Last night was a little parade driving through downtown. The organizer's daughter was wearing what is now in fashion, jeans with a big hole in one of the knees. So I went home and gathered up three of my old wasted/worn/torn/ripped shorts to give her.

When I arrived at the show this morning, I asked her to walk over to my car so i could give her my "gift" (the 3 pair of ripped up shorts). Then just for fun, I asked her and her girlfriend to slip on my old shorts (they were clean/just washed) and pose in front of my restored '72 Plymouth Satellite Sebring Plus. They agreed.

The winner of the car show is not based on any criteria that I know of, the organizer just picks out a different car each time. Today the "winner" was a '79 Camaro Z28 ("350 injected" logo on the hood). I received special "recognition" for participating in the parade (along with about four other vehicles).

Before I loose you guys, let me post a few more girls. Two models were promoting Quaker State and another girl "Miss Calafia" was promoting tourism.

A part-time resident brought his 1929 Ford Model "A". He and his wife spend summers back in Oregon. It runs and drives, said he needs to double clutch the 3 speed transmission every time he shifts a gear.

I was told this '65 Mustang convertible was not a convertible from the factory. The dead give-away is that the A pillars are painted and not chrome.

Looks like you're making a couple of friends there! I'll have to try that "worn out bluejeans" next year when it warms up.

The only four door at the show was a '69 Buick Skylark Special. I bought the owner, Manuel, lunch at Applebee's where the show took place. He ordered ribs and gave me half the rack he ordered to take home for dinner, good food.

More Jeeps:
'88 Jeep Sahara Edition
'54 Willy's (a perfect restoration by a local pro)
'80 Toyota Land Cruiser

My '72 SSP (with '70 Superbird quarter panel "PLYMOUTH" decal, '71 side marker lights, '71 rear bumper, '71 Dayclona reproduction backlight louvers, and '72 Road Runner grille):

Yeah, Model A’s do not have a sincromesh transmission at all. I double clutch mine all the time as it’s smoother and less prone to a crunch.

Car show? We had tornados 15 miles away Saturday and snow flurries today. Can’t wait for spring!
