Do Shopping Carts use Positive or Negative Caster?

Car's generally don't have swiveling rear wheels.

All I know, is that my local ARC thrift store has carts with magnetic locking wheels, so if you try to take them out of the store, a electro magnet in the floor triggers the wheels to lock and you can no longer move the cart. Well you can, but it takes much effort as I found out when I got one out of the store once.

I heard them carts cost $4-500. each. I remember when the stores set it up so each returned cart paid a quarter. Kids were all over that! Gimme your cart! Didnt last long.....

actually I meant to type "carts" because the diagram shows casters on all four wheels

have you ever seen a cart with rear casters?

I haven't

one set needs to be fixed or it will "dog track"
