My 66 Satellite steering column shaft has damaged threads. I have a donor column for parts.
I need to rebuild the entire column. I just can't locate in my service manual on how to repair.
Any suggestions.

It's really not that hard, especially since you have a pre-'70 non-locking column. Just make sure you have the correct replacement parts (power vs. manual steering).

If worse comes to worse, you could always weld up & re-thread your current column (assuming your stripped part is where the steering wheel bolts on). If it's only stripped at the bottom of the threads, you "might" be able to slip a washer in there & use what you already have in your car.

Check the transmission section.

O ya. The trans. section does show detail on a manual shift column, but that's all I needed as mine is a console shift.
I do have the correct parts to repair, rag, signal cam, ect.. I figured it was fairly easy to repair. Always like the manual
for great info.

Thanks very much
