Found a 70 Satellite for sale. I'm interested but would like input from experienced FBBO members.

The car looks like a great entry level B body Mopar project. I think if you can buy it for three grand or less than you stole it,especially with it being a 70. You can make a nice Road Runner clone, since it already has the hood, or it may be a good candidate for a Superbird clone.

If my son gets it I think he's going to keep it a Satellite, he's come to liking the Satellites.
He has his 73 and would like to add the 70 to his collection. I see him slowly filling in the misding years with Satellits.

My feeling is a Satellite is much more desirable than a RR clone. Cant even find a Satellite anymore it seems. They all became fake GTX's and Runners.

They both are already headed on the Road Runner clone direction, with Road Runner hoods on them.

Some like it some don't,but I can't hear them complaining when i'm cruising with the top down! I have 4 other Chargers with the standard buttress roof, and one with the flush backwindow,so the one with the folding roof fits right in just fine.

Mine came with a set of RR tail lights and a RR Hood...sold the tail lights and used the hood...I would be interested in a nice stock Satellite hood if the money was right...Mines more of an "it" than a clone...by choice...
The original 318-727 was long gone...I kicked the 8 1/4 to the curb and replaced everything with a 70 383 and a 727 and 8 3/4 from a 68 Charger...
Pretty sure Ma Mopar never built a Sublime Satellite with a white interior and a black vinyl top...shame on her...

If that was a 68-70 Charger, the asking price would be over $10,000 even if it needed quarter panels and floors.
If I didn't have a Charger, I'd have a Satellite like that one. I may be jaded with the delusional Charger prices because I'd have no problem paying $3000 if the underside was solid.

That is the 70 B and C body rim blow steering wheel. The E body rim blow steering wheel is a nicer looking three spoke wheel.

100 percent...it is ALWAYS better to spend MORE Money for a "Fixed car" than to Fix one...unless you own a shop
PERIOD!

Damn that's very similar to mine...If you can get into that right...(500-1500) you can decide from there what you want to do with it...I bought mine as a parts car with the sole plan of parting it out...Once I got into it everything was very solid and actually too nice to cut up... I ended up with no patches in the unibody only at the rear window corners and some small ones in the fenders and 1/4's...As stated it is a money pit but it will make for a damn nice driver too...
95% of the public doesn't care that it's a Satellite...That car fixed and finished would draw a lot of attention...
I'd say if it's not rusted the hood alone would be in the 5-700.00 range...
nice satty.good job.

So while looking at one car, came across another one and would like to get opinions on the value and any other opinions.
I will tell you what I know about the car, it was getting dark and did not have time to dig deep.
Clean title, matching numbers (did not check, what I was told). Has most, if not all original parts, the hood is not original. Body seems to be solid, some rust behind rear tires and under the rear window. Did not pull up the carpet to check the floorplans. The fender tag was there but is pretty much roached. The owner did tell me the wiring under the dash was fried so needs all new wiring. I don't know what these cars are going for and would like to find out a real number for the car.
Thank you in advance.

Plague of Badgers (awesome screen name)
I think that would be a GREAT candidate for a Roadrunner clone, if and only if the frame rails and other major components like that are in good shape.
Bought right $$ it would pay off in value and enjoyment more than the 73 he has for sure!
I'd sell the 73 and put the proceeds into the 70, but I am extremely biased, for the 70, and against any 71 or newer, and from a $$ perspective, the 71 or newer ones are an investment that will never pay back.
