My coronet 68

I still have some pics to post about the body work, right now one of the first post I say" nightmare" and kinda is, I already have a transmission an A833 but from an a body and I don't know if I can fit it in, I already have the front disk brake conversion from an a body, the entire bushing box, disassemble the Dana rear end, look great inside no sharp edges, the rear brake entirely new except of course for the drums but those I made it rectified and came out in great shape, I already have the filler primer, the color and the transparent are paid for( the dollar here always goes up ) I have an issue with the rims they told me they fit my car but they don't so my machine guy redrill the studs, now they fit perfect but... I don't have a body man and am really getting tired of being scammed off with the body work I want it the best possible way, my car is going to be a weekend driver so no show room quality is needed, the guy i have leave the job and went to work to the USA, so to be honest am thinking about blocking the car myself, besides one of the doors have a terrible Job in a corner that's need to be redone bu tall this is expected I guess.
Saludos desde México.

Lol, If it's impossible it just takes longer!
Some dimensions if it helps you.
The A-body shifter adapter plate bosses will end up behind the cross member, rearward of the B-body bosses and forward of the E-body bosses. Maybe you can fabricate an adapter to locate the shifter to the B position. Obviously a longer drive shaft would be needed as well. Check the trans output spline count so you use the correct slip yoke on the drive shaft.
Swapping someone for the correct trans might mean fewer headaches for ya' though!
Good luck!

I forgot to tell you my plan for the coronet:
The engine I want is a 3rd Gen hemi, the original engine was beyond repair and the new hemis are avaliable here.
Front disk brakes I already have it
I like the Blue from the new ram and that's the color I want
I already have an a body A833 but maybe better a nv3500
the dash board is the rally one so that stay
Leather upholstery is not that expensive here and I know a few guys who can give me a very good price for the leather.

All looks like it's coming together... I know regulations and stuff aren't as worried about SOTB or even in rural counties in the US...but man I would urge anyone spraying, sanding leading to use a respirator...That guy probably has a family and you don't want to be a contributing factor of him coughing up his bleeding lungs in 10-15 years....it just aint worth it!

And that's the issue for me here in Mexico besides my coronet I've seen only another 3 b bodies 2 two more coronets and a satellite or a gtx ( when I turn around to check what it was the car was gone )no A833 here and the cost to import one in good condition is too much maybe a nv 3500 from a dakota v8 is more suita to my plan

:lol::lol: no am not... what kind of men do you think I am, don't answer that,
The engine bay is ready to paint, I just want to ask guys you what the heck this number mean in the radiator frame

The news is my body man quit, another one, am just getting sick and tired of the body work, I know as soon as the car is done with the paint, things will move faster.

So I see things are the same with body men the world over..... I mean I understand painters sniff the paint fumes & lose the brain cells... But all body men sniff is bondo dust... Does that kill brain cells too?????

Cool project, good luck finding someone who'll finish the project for ya...

All this people are a bunch of lazy *** suckers, I said that you can't make a complete body man from all those around here, all the guys that have seen my car, ask for half the money up front, to all I've said ok once you start the work I'll pay you every weekend, guess how many start the work...

It sucks getting bodywork done wherever a guy lives. Mine is finally sitting in my buddies shop after being delayed 2 months. Been there for a week and a half and he still hasn't started on it......

I'm at the point I don't want to have a friend do bodywork... I'd rather see it as a business dealing, I pay $$$ & get the work done... I don't need to loose friends over body work...

Cause it doesn't seem to matter whether it's a business dealing or a friend, they all flake... And most try to rip you off at the same time...

It’s called “Paint Prison”........and it does suck.......Been there a few times myself and had to take the cars back, then find another body guy.......

Oh, I think most of us who want shiny paint have been to paint prison... Some wise up & learn to enjoy "Patina"...

I appreciate Patina but still want my car to be shiny... Luckily I have a guy who's been turning out nice work for awhile now, he's working on my Coronet this evening... His work is excellent, not cheap like I could get back in the day but excellent work.. So I pay the man...
