Got a call from another old retired fireman today about a car his mother bought brand new back in 1970. It is a 1970 Charger 500. She has long passed away and her son is in no position to do anything with it. Been sitting for 15-20 years. I just hope it is inside. I'm going this Thursday. I'll take some pictures and I'm going to try and buy it. Now I have no interest in taking on another project. So If anyone has interest in it. PM me about the car.

Yes.... but my wife would have me sleeping outside if another car followed me home :(

Let's see some pictures FL is a rough state for out side cars! Hope it's safely inside! If the price is right I'm sure it will sell quickly

hole in the head you say?

Oh, "project car".

Same thing for me.

...but let's see it.

Good luck on your Charger find. The story reminds me of my mom who had a 70 Charger R/T SE that was our family car from 1970-1982.

So there is a 90% chance of rain on Thursday, so I called the owner and went out to look at the car today. Car is in amazing condition, no visible body rust anywnere. owner told me he went with his mother to buy it back in 1970 when he was 16. Car is original and complete. 318 p/s , A/C , auto. No bubbling under the vinyl top, dutch man panel is nice, front medal around front windshield is sold. Hell even the dash pads are real nice. Will need a trunk pan. I couldn't look to well under the car but what I could see was solid. Man also told me it was undercoated and rust treated as in Ziebart. He drove it to where you see it in 2000. I said I wouldn't do another car but? It is a solid builder. Man said it was never wrecked and only had a small crease where his mom rubbed up against something repaired. I made an offer on it and he is going to let me know. Of course I won't know the condition of the underside till I can get it on my lift. Here are a few pictures.

They are only asking $3000 ???
You MUST buy that car!

That is a rare green on green!!!! Lmao.

Looks clean, dare we ask what the offer was?

I like it to nice for my wallet! That car looks sweet ! Where about s are you ! Need any help ?

That's in amazing condition for being outside. Glad to see it will be saved!

My mom's 70 Charger R /T SE that I posted the picture in this thread was triple green too. It's been about fifteen years since I have seen the car,but a friend of mine said that he saw it a few years ago, so I believe that the car is still around. If I ever saw it for sale, I would love to buy it. The Charger 500, that is in the thread looks like a great find, hopefully you can score it.

Well still waiting to hear from the guy.I won't wait to long. What is a car like in the thread worth? I don't want to loose it.

Value?
I hate to use the "it depends" routine but it does apply here. The condition of the underbody is crucial to determining value. In the current condition or Restored to OEM condition, the car is valued below an R/T but still a solid buy under $10,000 if the floors and frame rails are not crunchy.
