converted from a dual battery system to a 16anking power. However. when I try to start it, the starter stays engaged until I unhook the battery. What gives? What do I need to do?
Thx BUT, when I hook it back up to a 12V battery, it cranks and disengages like normalIt could be the starter is not properly seated but releasing when the battery is disconnected doesn't do much to confirm that. This is purely a guess but the added voltage/current might be causing the ignition switch contacts to stick??? If you are still using the stock wiring harness, try removing the yellow wire from the starter relay when it's stuck. That would eliminate the ignition switch. If it continues it might be a defective starter relay/contacts or even a stuck solenoid.
That's my point. Something in the increased voltage that may be over-taxing a marginal contact or connection somewhere.Thx BUT, when I hook it back up to a 12V battery, it cranks and disengages like normal
