Anybody know what the height is of the discontinued Holley Street Dominator 701R-10 which is for the B blocks. I want to have a 451 built up for my 69 Super Bee, but it has the N96 ram charger induction so I will be fighting clearance issues. I am positive that my favorite Edelbrock Performer RPM would be to high. What other choices are out there for a 550 hp 550 ft.lb. motor?

I had a street dominator on my 451, and it worked really good. Not sure on the height, but I wouldn't hesitate to use one again. Probably the lowest height of any of the X-Type intakes

Old school X manifolds EDE TM-6 or the Weiand. The TM-6 with intake bolt dimples welded & ports straightened worked great on my 451 600 HP motor. Also it didn't care very much about carb size. Old but it worked.

You should be able to can gain some clearance by using a 440 air grabber baseplate since an RB motor is taller than a B motor.

Yep, already thought of that. I believe 3/8".

Ended up buying the one I found. Figure I can always sell it if I don't use it. New, never used but siting for awhile. So if anybody is curious, it is 15/16" taller than a stock 383 4-barrel intake.

Nice! The Street Dominator on my 451 69 RR fit really snug, with the 440 base, and air grabber hood.

I cut and blended the flat part between the front two runners out of my street dominator.

Gets rid of the Holley advertising and looks better IMO.

I know it’s not really on topic, but I’m just throwing it out there.

Are you able to use any carb spacer at all? I like to run at least a 1/4". From what I am reading, the 440 base is 3/8" shorter than a 383 version. I'm not certain how much leeway there is on the stock setup. Was thinking of using a solid motor mount on the drivers side to eliminate any motor twist when the clutch is dumped.

What did you guys do with the EGR stuff. Seems like it would be nice to tap and plug the hole in the bottom of the plenum instead of rigging up a plate on the exterior? Or maybe do both?

I would definitely put a solid motor mount, or a torque strap on there. I did. Don't remember what we did with the EGR stuff. Seems like it never was even an issue. Maybe someone had plugged it before we got it, or it was one that didn't have that feature. Put it together without a spacer, then check your air filter to hood clearance with some clay, to see if you have any room left.
