Why is it that some of my welds lay flat and look so beautiful and then the other ones look like a five-year-old did it?

This is the second day of laying in the trunk. I've been in there so long I feel like I'm homeless

Looks like your welding through the edm and not cleaning it off prior to welding.

I thought it would make enough contact just by drilling it out, should I be grinding it off first?

I would do it just on the spots your gonna weld.

Trying to make a patch for the front wheel Arch. it is not working out so good. I wish I could just buy a patch for this. Any suggestions would be appreciated

What I noticed is that if the molten puddle contacts the edm it will burn it away but if the arc directly contacts the edm, it blows a big hole and creates an erratic arc. I started cleaning the edm off of everything and the welds are much nicer.
