hello all.
Looking for a burgundy upper dash pad for a 1968 coronet.
Must be in nice shape with no cracks.

Thanks

Best of luck on your hunt. My suggestion is to find a very nice pad and send it out to get a color change. Instrument Specialities does a fantastic job.

I will keep an eye out but that is a tall order...

I know it’s a long shot.
Been casually looking for years.

Soft goods are tough to source at 50 years of age.

I would consider a nice original pad in any color and send it for a dye job as MN74 has suggested. I hadn’t considered that option.

Thanks guys

Those pads are the ones that Bob Baker of ABC Moparts are turning out. I have sold approximately 20 or so different pads of his and the quality has been very good. The grain pattern may not be 100% dead on, but 99% of the people will not have a clue. Most of the reproductions are way too short in the A-Pillar area. I have not sold any of the ABS cored varieties as I will only deal with the metal framed pads that he recovers. Also, another area to pay attention to when purchasing a core is to look at the mounting studs. Many of these pad's studs are in such bad shape that the threads are rusted away.

Seeing that your in Ohio, the Indy Cylinder Head Show is coming up the first weekend in March. Bob does not know currently if he will be attending yet, but that could give you an opportunity to view and hold one in your hands if he is coming. He also has the factory colors and can dye any pad to the factory correct colors.

Thanks.
We were talking about going to the Indy show anyhow.
This is all the reason to go.

If you should decide to attend the Indy show, check with Bob directly or myself to insure that the pad will be there. In speaking to Bob during the week, he was not 100% sure he will be attending. It is almost 1800 miles for him and a little over 500 for us. But the show is very good in that it is really one of the first larger shows for the year and the first chance to see some new parts being brought out.

I have bought a few things myself from ABC and had no problems........
