Found a 70 Satellite for sale. I'm interested but would like input from experienced FBBO members.

I can appreciate the guys that love the 3rd gen B body cars but I am not a fan of them.

I have really tried to like them, especially because the 71 is identical to the interior of my long ago sold (but greatly loved) 71 Charger R/T. My biggest obstacle to liking them was somewhat apparent on my 71 Charger, BUT the bumper style and aero look of the Charger overcame the issues I have with the 71 and newer Satties, and that is the wide-assed "hips" and big ugly rear bumper.
The only one I've seen that was nice looking had really WIDE tires in tubs under the fenderwells, and a "ground effects" treatment that really gave it a sinister look.
The wide rear on standard or slightly wider than stock tires looks like a morbidly obese woman who carries all of that weight in her gut and ***, but has skinny legs and high heels.
I apologize to all of you who like them, sincerely I don't mean to disparage them, I just really think what I clearly expressed.

A buddy said the stock ones look like a fat woman with really small feet.

thats a perfect description, esp with the factory original tires and wheels.
you really have to stick fat tires and mags on them right away just to get them to look somewhat normal.
also agree w biomedtech, and ty for actually explaining it so well.

chargervert,ty for the reply, maybe he was from ct,not sure.
i do remember him explaining the charger to me,and he had created that car as well as others
i think? he recreated a famous show car charger too.
again unsure, its been a while,i met him at carlisle years ago.
i was just thrilled actually to learn i wasnt tripping hard when i saw that charger convertible that day long ago.

Well, we went back, took a deeper look and there is some rust. I looked around where people pointed out locations and that was a big help knowing what to look for. Anyway, made two offers and sad to say no deal was made.
He has my numbers and can call if he changes his mind but I'm not paying his asking price, $6500 with no wiggle room :realcrazy: then told me when his dad rewires the dash the price will be going up.

Ahh..the days when a 318 powered anything could be bought for next to nothing...
Glad you got a good look.

I think in 10 years you'll look back and wish you had paid the $6500.
So it's only "worth" $4000. If you can handle the work and the car is not terrible, I'd go for it. If it's has rust issues then that's another story. Then again I love 318 A/C cars. If that car was in your driveway and someone drove by and offered you $6500, would you sell it?

I would really like to have the car and as for the work on it, no problem. The biggest issue I had was there is significant rust on the right rear frame and other locations, yes can be fix.

For me right now I don't have that much. I will keep it on the back burner and see how things go.

If someone offered me 6500, yes I would take it, but would not be asking that price if I was selling it in that condition.

If it's meant to be, it will be.

Its to much money and you made the right move. If not for the rust issues, ,maybe.
My personal thing is when you get told that if they "rewire" the dash the price goes up. Really. Depends on who does the rewiring and maybe the price should go down instead of up. Notice the seller didn't say replace the harness.
I still say these guys watch to many car shows and think they have something special.
