Hello guys I am seeking info on anyone who has tubbed or mini tubbed 66/67 Plymouth Satellite or Belvedere or Dodge Coronet. What did you do and did you use a 4-link or ladder bar setup? I am seeking pics and ideas as I am going to do my car next year any pics or info that others have done would be very helpful. I would like to see pics and ideas of how things where done and then pics of the finished work and the cars stance always open to other suggestion.

Thanks for any Ideas.

Mini tubbed my 1967 Belvedere Convertible . . . full details can be found in my thread . . .

Here's some of the work . . .

Cutting out the inner piece - so it could be moved over to the frame . . .

Working my way around the supports . . .

Welding in a flat piece of steel, on the outside to "de-hump" it . . .

To get your car mini-tubbed and have it look like this . . .

The holes in the tubs are another adaptation that I did to the car to drain the convertible top into the tub and not int the rear window area . . .

Did a full back-half, 4-link, and legal S/S moly cage in my WO. My 66 Belvedere is very similar. What exactly, do you want to see? I'll post later....I'm leaving to go pew-pew-pew-pew.

For the most part ideas of what was done things other may do different if they could plus pics of the finished product and the stance of the car is very important.

Just got back from shooting......

Most of these setups are pretty similar. People design different bar configurations, round or 2X3 for rear frame, and normally 9" Ford or Dana rears. Ladder-bar or 4-link would depend on the usage and amount of time and skills at chassis adjustment. ET will determine how much chassis you need to race at sanctioned tracks. Different shocks, diagonal or wish-bone bar, anti-roll bar, driveshaft loops, and the amount of original floors all come into play. Before you get too serious, I'd go to a mopar race, and look at what you like about certain people's cars....and ask questions to the car owners. It's easy to get carried-away.

Belvedere is similar. Has more interior bars, and more time and attention to using more of the original car. The 4-bar is different, and it'll still accept leaf-springs and a wider rear axle....if someone wanted. Tubs and tires are bigger/taller on the Coronet setup.

FOR YOUR INFORMATION...
I just left my local Fabrication Shop in Fresno CA.
Got pricing to back half my 66 Coronet which is currently Cal Trac mono leafs, Cal Trac bars and Cal Trac shocks. My car is currently mini-tubbed and I have 15x10 Welds with 11.25 tread width Hoosier Bias Slicks with 13.2 section width and 93.5 circumference. there is about 1" space between the tire bulge and the leaf spring and 1" space on the outer wheel well.
The Fab Shop Quoted me $5000 for the total bill.
$2700 for the ALSTON 4 link kit with 2x3 frame rails, Double Adjustable shocks, Aluminum Tubs and Aluminum Floor kit and all the other stuff needed PLUS $2300 labor for the $5000 total.

If you get rid of the cal-trac setup let me know please.

5 1/2 or 6"., if I remember correctly. My mind isn't doing math right now...LOL I know the Bogarts were 15X10 with a 3 1/2" BS. But, I think the Tricks could go out another inch and look more inboard than the Bogarts were. I threw the bare tricks in the wheel-houses, and saw they'd fit. I know I also measured the width at 13".

....and yes, the car had full exhaust on it before the major changes and cleaning.

We did some trading before correct... are those the Super tricks... WOW car looks awesome.

Yes we did. Those aren't the same wheels. I collect those, and have many. Merry Christmas.

Some great looking cars can't wait for spring here in Ohio

No, they're not. I have many sets....and these fit the car and required little attention. Yours are still in the boxes. I have to build another set for my 72 `cuda. I'll use whatever parts from different rims...to build a beautiful set for that car. Deep offset front halves are hardest to find.
