Figured id post this up for my buddy who is doing this 68X. Definitely not a project for the feint of heart! To be honest i think he likes the challenge and to prove it can be done. He made up the frame jig and (as you can see) there was very little sheet metal that was worth saving. Some could have been repaired but with aftermarket available he decided to go with all new metal. Unfortunately the rockers had mouse nests in them which were completely wet and rotted them from the inside.
Car is silver with the black stripes just above the rockers. Has the original 18 spline 4 speed / dana 60 and fendertag. Plan is a stockish appearance with a 500 stroker under the hood (original 440 is long gone) The last owner had it sitting under a tarp since the early 1980s. Came with a TON of parts (many NOS that are not readily available) for the GTX.
Ill periodically post updates if anyone is interested. He tends to move quickly so this isnt a typical 4-5 year project.
