Back to work on the bench. Got all the material prepped for 32 drawers and 4 doors... time for assembly.

Love making drawers. That lot will need a lot of clamps! All dove tails no doubt?
Nope, I usually do dove tails but feel dado's with glue and screws would be more durable for the garage. I'm more concerned about strength especially where it won't be seen, these drawers will get abused! I'll post a picture when I start assembling.

I'm getting ready to do some dove tails on some of the craziest grained Oak you've ever seen.. I'll post it.

Global warming, obviously; lol. Pretty nice.

Put the bottoms in and the feet, easy from here out. The legs are a bit of a pain since I don't have a bit to accomplish the profile I want so I made a taper jig to send the wood over the table saw at an angle. It takes small cuts one at a time but it gives me a nice dish. Then saw half the dish off, a router cut at the top, dado a pocket for it to attach to the box and saw out most of the bottom... pain but I like the look.

I've built one of these toy boxes for all of my kids, niece's and nephew's so with a new little guy in the family it's time to make another.

Outstanding! Hope his room isn't upstairs...lol. Seriously, really nice work and good use of the table saw.

That’s what I was thinking - this work bench is going to be so nice - how are you going to beat on it.... ?? I’d put it in my bedroom..lol

Finally back at it! I've been using the garage a lot lately and lack of storage has my bench top a mess! Been a slow year on finances but after a nice Christmas bonus I treated myself to the long awaited drawer slides, full extension 100lbs capacity ball bearing slides that is. As much as I hated to I went out on the limb and ordered them off Ebay:eek:. Lowes sells these for about $15 a pair, I bought 32 pairs off Ebay for $140 ish and am pleasantly surprised with the quality.... can't make sense of the astronomical price difference:screwy:. I had to rip a bunch of plywood dividers but the rabbits I left made installation a breeze. 22 installed, 10 to go then stain, clear and install the faces.

I just this weekend finished my wifes (office) bathroom remodel.
Chestnut from my 1882 barn floor. 19.5" wide and 12' long 5/4.
Vanity top is live edge 25"x 55" two 14" ones to make up the 25"
Center door is one piece 17" wide and the drawer fronts are all quarter sawn.
Old Chestnut is really hard on power tools.

They're ready for lacquer, upholstered seats, hinges and spring loaded openers. We recently adopted this little guy, I'm thinking he may be a garage junkie in the future lol.

Drawers are almost done, 2 coats of Poly then handles and they will be done.

Hated wasting so much space in the one cabinet that only houses the boiler plumbing so I added some hangers. One more thing out of sight!
