My latest Schwinn Stingray project.

I had a Pea Picker as a kid. Got it in a trade with a neighbor: he got a generic 10 speed and I got the Picker. Loved that thing. the rear disc brake didn't work for sh!t, but it was so cool! Now I want to build a bicycle...

I recently purchased this numbered Stingray Orange Krate replica too.

While original Stingrays can get pretty pricey, they are much cheaper to build than Mopars!

I had a Sting Ray way back in the day. Like 7th or 8th grade. Busted my azz to get the money to buy it. Blue/5 speed -stick shift/fat rear tire. I loved that bike. Had it a year or so. My sister an me went to the shopping center one day and it got stolen. Granted I think my dad got us the cheapest frikkin bike locks made... the lock was laying on the ground , opened not cut. Pisses me off to this day, I hate fukkin thief's

That sucks,an original 5 speed is worth some money these days! I had my first 10 speed bike stolen the same way! I finally bought it's replacement last year at a swap meet!

If I would ever come across the exact same model, I'd snag it up in a heartbeat

i have a nice black grasshopper slick nos and a few colored others including some schwinn? rimsets.
if you think you can use any of it,pm me.

Nice collection of bikes, but there's only one problem; a fifty something adult, today, looks retarded riding around the neighborhood on a 45 year old kid's stingray bike. :D

Couldn't afford one back then, looks like I still can't now. I've always had a thing for cool bikes, then and now. Thanks !

Nice Orange Krate RC!,No one calls me a dork when I'm riding one of my stingrays, they just say, nice bike!

Don't forget to add the baseball cards in the spokes attached with the clothes pins. We all did it.....

I had a 1968 model Orange-Krate, for my paper-route.

68 Orange Krates bring around $2500 to $3000 for a nice example these days!

I just remember being able to ride wheelies forever on them. Literally, up/down driveways, sidewalks & turning everywhere on the rear tire. Might as well been a uni-cycle. Of course, I could do the same thing on our BMX when we got involved with those more & then on to dirt bikes & quads.

I had a spank new metallic blue Stingray the first year they came out, 1963....can't remember if it was a birthday present in May or end of year Christmas present. A Friend of mine in neighborhood got a metallic green one about same time & we were the first of the neighborhood to have 'em.
