Hey guys, I have the bumper jack for my '68 Charger disassembled for restoration. I know that the mechanism itself is grey but I'm wondering about the mast itself. I see that it's a dull silver but I can't tell if it was originally painted a flat silver from the factory or if it's plated in a silver cad finish. Anyone know what the finish was? Thanks.

It was plated.....everyone typically paints them. You can either buy the paint from a friend of mine or just buy a can of chrome paint and a matte clear........

The one in my GTX was plated.....

Thanks Justin. I actually disassembled mine so the mast is by itself. I’m going to send it out for plating now that I know they were originally plated.

No sweat Justin, I know you talk to many members here and it's hard to remember all of them! I had most of the plating done already by Totally Auto. I chose them after following your build thread. I have a few remaining pieces that I need to send to them and I wanted to make sure that if the jack mast needed to go I would send it as well...
