Tri-color Slap Stick Shift Indicator Universal?

I don't remember my parents new special order '71 Road Runner slap-stick having different colored shift indicator lights in the center console for park, neutral, and drive (red, yellow, green I believe). I thought they were just backlit the same whitish light.

My '72 Satellite Sebring Plus slapstick has the multi-colors. Was there a change/update on the lighting after '71 or were all '71-'74 models lit the same?

IIRC the change was after 74

My buddy's 76 Daytona had a console shift but it didn't ratchet, say "slap stik" or have different colors.

my 74 got the indicator with changing colors and all 71/74 I have seen around are the same
