Can someone help me finish decoding my 1968 Broadcast Sheet. If you know what the codes I circled in red are or where I can find the information I would be greatly appreciative. Thanks in advance for you help!

ENGINE refers to the engine assembly. The engine assembly is dictated primarily by which transmission was specified for that car and whether or not the car had A/C. This can be reversed engineered by asking yourself what engine (i.e Hemi or 440) what transmission (099) = four speed behind a Hemi or 440, and what body (at this point, I'll presume it's a B body). Since it's a Hemi/440 four speed we know it doesn't have A/C.

TRANS indicates the transmission assembly. 099 is the late number for the 68 Hemi/440 four speed.

AXLE = axle assembly number. This indicates the gear ratio, width, Sure Grip or not and brake size of the entire assembly. For 1968, axle assembly 246 = B body, 9.75 Dana, 3.54 gears with SG and 10" brakes. confirms it's a B body.

STEERING COLUMN = assembly code and color for the steering column. This assembly number would include info on whether the car was built with column auto, console auto, column manual or floor manual. Since it's a four speed car, we can surmise this is a B body steering column for a floor mounted transmission. the "X" tells us the column is painted black.

STEERING WHEEL/HORN RING Tells us which horn ring came on the car and the color of the wheel.

STUB FRAME = the K frame assembly number.

I'm guessing this 68 Charger with 440 four speed Dana combo; woodgrain steering wheel and front disc brakes.

Thank you spot on with the car. Where did you find this I have been looking for months.

I just have the knowledge from different sources and decoding sheets.

Thanks again, can you help me out with the shocks? I now that Shocks front 32 is 2275883 number on shock 2206832 1968 front H.D. But What is 95? Another piece to the puzzle that I been working on.

Do you know if there is a supplemental 1968 mopar parts catalog for all the mid-year changes? The manual I have does not include the Hurst shifter only the midland.

My book has a March of 69 update to the April of 1968 update and does include the Hurst PNs

I have a copy of the 68 parts book. My book just happens to have the update.
No it's not on PDF but I'd send you a copy of that page if you send an e-mail addy via PM

Try http://www.mymopar.com/index.php?pid=58
I also have a red bood and white book with codes. The hard ones are the cast numbers to part numbers on the bottom. PM me I can try and help you.
I am familiar with the the 62-68 codes. I was hoping to learn how to interpret the numbers on my sheet. You are right re the hard ones at the bottom.

BB14404SPD,

You mentioned you had a red & white book with codes to help decode broadcast sheets. I'm looking for something to help decode 1966-1968 broadcast sheets particularly the bottom couple lines. Could you recommend some books for me to buy. If you know of any to decode pre 1966 broad cast sheets I'd be interested in them as well. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I also used the factory parts manual. The two numbers on my 68 broadcast sheet I decoded with the books and the parts lists. I got pretty good withe 68's and decoded all of my sheet. I would start with the 67 parts manual.
