Going rate for b body Dana 60?

There is a real b body Dana 60 cut down to fit A-body 2100$ in Michigan 4.10 gears with brakes fresh rebuild. Just posted yesterday

There’s a 69 B-body Dana on Facebook for $1650 OBO. There’s deals out there.

Hmmmm, I have a Dana 60 in my old '65 Ford 3/4 ton truck that I bought when I was 15 years old (I'm 54 now). It's been parked out back behind the barn for probably 23 years now. It was fine when I parked it. I knew I kept that old truck around for a reason! I wonder what that rear end is worth in that? It's geared super low, like 4:56 maybe. You could actually take off in 4th gear literally. It's probably the only good thing left on the truck!
Truck axle is different than a car, no pinion snubber on truck axle.

This one will go if I ever get around to doing it.70 B-body 3.54,O.E.M. Bendix drums in NAPA boxes, all O.E.M wheel cylinders, bearings, seals, brake hardware ,brake shoes and lines,no Chinese junk. Some day I may quit procrastinating and get it done.

So I found a b-body Dana 60 within driving distance for 1500. It appears to be of the 68 vintage. It is complete with pinion snubber. Said that the gears have been changed out for 6.17 gears. After the cost of buying useable gears and paying to have them installed, this doesn't sound so much like a great deal. Thoughts?

200 bucks or so for gears but can you set them up or need to be done at a shop? If you gotta pay, maybe not.

If you’ve never done gear set ups, you probably don’t have dial indicator or press. But if you do have these, you can do it. It’s not hard. Just takes time to get the correct pattern. Hey, if you never try, you’ll never know if you can do something.

I'm all about doing everything myself. That being said w/o proper tools the cost of having someone else set up the gear is probably worth it. I have enough tools to do it. I've done many axles. I'm still slow enough that a Dana takes me longer than its worth to probably pay someone.

Where can I get a dana for 2700 complete to my door? I’ve been
looking for a dana 60 for over a year... haven’t found a useable one for under 2k.
I bought a narrowed , disc brake , Detroit locker , dana 60 from a guy in ohio that builds and sells them. I paid around $2100 and some change. Unfortunately , I cant remember his name , he was on ebay too.

I just paid $2,442 from strange with s-trac, chrome moly yolk, and aftermarket cover shipped to my door

So I just missed out on a complete 68 dana 60 for 1200. I couldn't make it down there in time. They are still out there.
