Roger's Roadrunner

Sweet, that's great news Roger. You have any idea where you can get that rubber vent door seal (The mice got into mine).

not sure 747, unless one from a coronet 4dr will work that a friend of mine has for parts.

I'm pretty confident any B Body from 68-70 should be the same. I was just hoping someone knew where you could get them but I guess a used one would be fine if it isn't eaten too. Thanks

haven't priced any, but you used to see them at The Nats for $125 a side used.

roadrunner i am looking forward to seeing you work on your car,i am sure you are a skilled mopar man,i have viewed your thread and i see you have done a very good job on the bird so far, i will be watching.

Don't tell me somebody had air shocks on that car............. You getting new rails and cross members or looking for a donor? Good luck

I've got a new crossmember, rear x-member, and frame rails, but they are the safe-t-cap type ones. I tried to order the half rails from Sherman's but was told they didn't have them even though I gave them the part number that I had gotten from a couple members. I'll make them work. I still need to order the rear leaf spring mounts. You are probably correct Devin on the air shocks. There is a piece of steel under that crack that is welded to the x-member. That was probably done long before I had the car, since as long as I have owned it, it has never been on the road.

moparjohnny, I appreciate the kind words, but this is the first major undertaking of any kind that I have ever done on a car. I am learning just as much working on this car as I am seeing others here working on theirs.

Roger you do have some work ahead but nothing that cant be done and lots of help from here, I know it looks overwelming but doing this myself and other members as well you'll get it and being all new again! :)

just updating my thread. I have the correct frame rails now. Also I have the trunk floors, both rear quarter skins as well as the rear shock crossmember. I just ordered the trunk floor extentions from Jeff @521 restorations. I also ordered new rear leaf springs, rear shackle kit, and front hangers from Summit. This should keep me busy for the winter. Want to thank my wife for taking a small bank loan to let me get the rest of the parts I needed.

No better way to start the winter months than a bunch of new steel! Sounds like your going to be busy.

a good wife is priceless! keep working roger that bird will be humming pretty soon.

Good to hear you got the frame rails Roger. Ya gotta love getting new metal, it gonna make the bird look like a new car. (Literally) Make sure you treat your wife good not many women will do that. She's a keeper but I'm sure you already knew that.

Hey guys, just wanted to let everyone know that I haven't fell off the earth. It's been rough the last few months. Back in Sept '15 I lost a close truckin' friend on the 4th(throat cancer), my oldest brother passed on the 19th(colon cancer), and most of us know of a members mom that had passed away too.
The bright spot in sept was the company I work for holds a banquet every year for the drivers of the month ME: Jan '14. they put on a nice meal/drinks. they bring up each driver and present them with an award for their month. also drivers are award for million miles, years of service. They even brought up the driver's wife or girlfriend on stage and presented them with a rose. They paid for all airfare and hotel rooms for everyone. A driver even had his 80 year old mother their. The final award is for Driver of the year. I did not even know I had won DOTY until my wife told me to turn around and I saw my dispatcher on stage. was given a 55" flat screen tv, a really nice watch, a crystal plaque, and a nice crystal semi truck.
Then in January of this year my mother passed away from a massive stroke. That hit me really hard. She was surrounded by my other brother and my 2 sisters, a close cousins and my wife as well as the pastor. She was really proud of the fact that I got the awards from my company when I showed them to her. I'm really glad we were able to have a big 80th b'day party for her back in June '14. Two days later, mom's older sister died from a massive heart attack.
We are still getting mom's household things arranged and dispersed to friends and family that wants some of her things. I will try and get some updates as soon as I can.

Sorry to hear about your mom and aunt. It's never easy loosing a parent. You and your family will be in my prayers and I'll light a candle at the church for your mom. On the brighter side of things congrats on the award it sounds like a good company to work for.
