Then you don’t want it to look like original? I sprayed organisol on my hood and it came out of the gun like cotton candy. After it fully dried, I knocked it down with scotchbright pads to get the correct texture. But the colored changed from black to gray. Next, I rubbed the hood with a rag dipped in reducer and this brought back the black color. I have received many compliments on it as looking exactly like the factory original color and texture. It looks similar to flat black, but with a deep texture. Never wax it! It still looks good after 15 years or so.

Thanks!I think the closest match without being ‘correct’ is to use either SEM or PPG Trim Black. It’s along the lines of satin.
