Not sure what this motor was built for but I'm sure it was something nasty. Was in museum since new - don't believe it has ever been used. All new parts. Would need to be picked up in the Dallas area. Not shipping this monster.
He's looking for 27K obo

Looks like No Water? IDK don't see any freeze Plugs?
I don't know, but it has a water pump and drain plugs on the block. I would say it is a water block.
"The Milodon VII-L Hemi proved one of the most reliable and winningest engines in drag racing history powering Shirley Muldowney, Barry Setzer/Pat Foster, Don Schumacher, Raymond-Beadle/Harry “Blue Max” Schmidt, Don Prudhomme and countless others to victory. In 1986, Milodon Engineering ceased production of the Milodon VII-L Hemi, but not before the engine had won numerous NHRA/AHRA/IHRA world championships in both Top Fuel and Funny Car Eliminator."

Could have water in the heads. I'm not that familiar with the block. The sides look pretty shallow.

Saw this motor for sale right before Christmas.Guy wanted 10K for it.

wow...from Maine to TX in one week and 17k higher :popcorn2:
Sorry folks, wasn't aware how much it was (although if he got it for 10K it was way undervalued). I almost bought it but - just would rather have a hemi block - not familiar with Milodon Hemi, but after reading about it, it is suppose to be bullet proof. I'll tell "my friend" nobody is interested in it on this forum- maybe it will go in the Dart and will see if it twist it. Again, sorry - I was just trying to help someone out. (bad me)

those milodon blocks are obsolete out dated relics

Thanks for letting us "all" know how much this engine went for before Christmas Jamie. Going to see if I can get this motor toward what was paid for it. Thought it would be neat to throw it in a J-code B-body, but man they are like gold (anyone know where a roller is that is reasonable without much rust). Also was reading about "freeze plugs" - they are just called that because they sometimes pop out when a block freezes (sometimes the block cracks). The hole filed by a "freeze plug" is actually casting holes used to help get the sand and other materials out of the block during the casting process. Wonder if the Molodon blocks were machined rather than cast.

Seems like an ad that begs for commentary. Not like something like this comes along every day.

ill give 12k,less trans,i have a accel dual plug distributor that will look good on that

That sucks.... was only a few hours away from me when it was listed for $10k. Would have bought that in a heartbeat! If only I had known

The motor was in Oklahoma. I called the guy who originally sold it and got the lowdown. He did sell it for 10k.
