Looking to buy new Grade 8 or better k-member bolts (4) the ones that hold the bushings/body mounts, does anyone know the size?

I did a quick measurement and it looks like 9/16-12 X 5, can someone confirm?

gonna be hard to find "new" with that nose and that shoulder.

what's wrong with them? rounded?

yeah not liking the threads on a few of them. i could always round off the ends, the shoulders should be ok as the sleeve goes there... From what i saw they extend at least an inch past the nut.

Looks to be 5/8 11tpi and 5” total length top to tip (just over 4.5” from under the head and washer. Also looks to be a grade 8 bolt.

Ps the unthreaded portion is about 9/16” and measuring the threads was difficult as they are a little rounded off too

What about chasing the threads with a die?

a LOT or Mopar "long" bolts are non-standard lengths (like 3 and 3/4", in stead of 3 1/2 or 4" etc)

That shoulder is also flush with the threads instead of a slightly larger dia as are most aftermarket bolts.

Grinding the nose will remove the corrosion inhibiting coating and possibly the heat treating.

You'll never see that anyway.

I may end up buying a tap/die just to be sure it doesn't get stuck, one of them took like a good week to get it out. Impact gun, heating, liquid blaster, cutting the sleeves off and a lot of quick prayers. I was looking at Grainger they have these which might work, although the thread length is 1 1/2 and the original is 2 1/8".

Or i can get a fully threaded one 5" long, i don't think it would matter, zinc coated with a lot of anti-seize.

A little when I was younger... I do miss it quite a bit and wish my work life had gone in that direction instead of the paper pushing BS I ended up doing lol
I did keep a few things that come and have come in handy over the years.

I've got a set of nice originals from the SW if you want to go that route.

Honestly from the distance I can't see anything wrong with that bolt. I seriously doubt you'll find exact same bolt at shops

Interesting.....

The OP's bolt sure looks like grade 8 while the more recently posted bolt is clearly grade 5.

Firm Feel sells a solid k-frame bushing kit, which comes with new bolts. If you call they may agree to sell you just the hardware. I have no idea if they are tapered like the originals.

They will be much shorter with a very large thick washer as the aluminum puck is only acting as a solid spacer where as the original and the newer poly act like a clamshell (for lack of a better analogy) where two bushings lock together through the K-frame isolating it from the bolt and the frame. hope that makes sense... hope the pix help explain as well
