New from Tennessee - 1970 Charger R/T SE

Oh I know, I was trying to figure out what the foolish part was.

I knew the car was a flip going in, and I am fine with that - I've been on both ends and sometimes like you said, it ends up in the right hands. He was wanting a RR, I was wanting a Charger and I think it worked out well for us both, he was great to deal with on it all. My standpoint on the deal was that I could have found a perfect one and spent $60k or more on it, or I could find this one that is pretty close for a lot less money and just needs some work here and there. I am really happy with it so far, quirks and all. :)

The happy part is all that matters....now it is time to burn some rubber.........

Welcome aboard from a little north!

The only issue it has now (I am posting in the driveline thread about) is a vibration, which I think is either the flywheel, motor mount or harmonic balance, IE it's not like a miss or engine issue, it's in the rotating assembly I'm pretty sure. I'll get her sorted out eventually.

Sounds like it may be what I'm dealing with, an out of balance engine. If so, you'll have to pull the engine & send the rotating assembly out for balancing. Perhaps that's why "wannafraud" sold it?

There are a ton of reasons but in short the people are awful, traffic is unspeakable and it's just not worth the effort to see. I'd rather not get robbed, stabbed or shot.

Sounds a lot like Memphis! Hey, Howyadoin, welcome! I'm a hopin to be gravitating to that state soon, hopefully this summer.

Welcome. You mentioned a vibration....check the heighth of your tranny mount.

Welcome!
Beautiful.
I saw your note on the vibration.
I would suggest check u-joints and particularly the rear u-joint straps, make sure the snap rings are installed on the cups on the differential.
Sometimes they are tricky to get installed and people just skip them and overtighten the straps.

Welcome to FBBO from NorCal Sierras

Welcome. Have fun on the tour.

Well I love the 70 Chargers, but i am a bit wacky... Had a chance to move to Nashville for work, turned it down.. but liked the area outside downtown..

Welcome from North Carolina. I am an Owner/Operator truck driver and my terminal is in Nashville. I don't know where you work, but downtown Nashville is awesome. Every city has it's bad neighborhoods, downtown Nashville is nothing like you described. And if you think Nashville traffic is "unspeakable, don't ever visit the eastern seaboard. Washington DC at 10pm is worse than Nashville at rush hour. We won't even talk about NYC!! Good luck with your Charger, the previous owner is a real tool.
