Not sure if I posted in one of my "Guess what I found in the dumpster/on the side of the road" threads, but about 2 months ago I found 30' of 1/2" EMT, four 4" square electrical boxes, six 2 gang recep covers and eight 20A receps along with about 20' each 3 color #12 solid and a few switches and LB s in the dumpster.
Most looked nearly new.
Priced them out when I went to get the rest of what I needed for this project, and only the parts I ended up using were over $50 before tax.

That's crazy to only have 1 15 amp circuit in a garage! Lights look much, much better, what are they, LED?
My dad always wired garages with 2 staggering circuits from opposite legs, if you were ever hard up for 220V you just plug into any 2 side by side 110 outlets with a Y cord and you had 220V. Don't remember ever having to do it but still a good idea.

They are 4500 lumen 4' LED fixtures from Rural King.
Right now, 2 per bay but I had planned 4 per bay.
They are replacing 1 per bay 800 lumen CFL which replaced a 60w incandescent.
It was one 15 amp circuit for all four 20x22 bays!
The left receps in my boxes are on the black leg of the panel, the right ones are on the red leg.
Interesting idea about 20A 240. I had a 20A 240V compressor that had a 30' cord with a cap that looked like a 20A 120V plug but the sideways prong was on the other side.

The NEC requires 20 amp circuit GFCI protected outlets in each garage bay as of 2017.

I was an electrician apprentice for about a year and a half back in the early 90's.
The Journeyman that taught me to bend conduit was REAL good.
I got my nearly 1 foot offset from the panel to the purlin on the first try.....after almost 25 years since I've bent any!
Good thing I kept my benders. IIRC they were $15 a piece back in the day.
Now $80 for the 1/2 inch and $130 for the 3/4.
