5 popular oil filter brands

LOL I don't know why I thought you said makes them. Sorry bro.
All good buddy!
Your post made me look it up.
Mancini has a Chrysler Oil Filter too, but the description doesn't specify the internal parts used.
Since I only change the filter maybe 2-3 times a year, because I don't drive it that much, I will probably spend the extra money for the "MOPAR" WIX filter because it looks GREAT!
Here's the "Chrysler" oil filter from Mancini

No idea who makes it, it could be WIX too, but the "MOPAR" copy I posted specifically says that the "MOPAR" filter is a WIX.

That was a good video, I currently have been running NAPA but have used Fram in the past. Didn’t think twice about it. No more!

I agree with all the Wix/NAPA users, but I've also always liked the old Hastings filters... the ones with the picture of the square headed dude!

In response to your mention of Hastings filters, here's a shot of one I have in my shop.

I think I'm gonna put the fass fuel filter system on it tired of screwing with it.
Just ran across this and thought you might look into the davco 382 system. Been running it on all engine for 20 plus years. Cost not bad filter replacement is also cheap. Mileage for me is 30,000 plus been a good unit.

What kind of problems? Flow issues?
Try davco 382 system itsi been good for me. Pricing is also good . Filter replacement at 30,000 plus. Has a clear top on it and can see the fuel also has a water drain off. Takes about 10 minutes to change the filter and you can do it yourself.

Fram has not had a good rep for years in my memory.
I suspect this is one of those you get what you pay for things.
He didn't address price but my gut tells me that's true.
Fram is usually the cheapest in the store, IIRC.
I've mostly run Mobile Ones with their synthetic oil for years.
I think I've had some Purolator in recent years with the oil/filter deals.

That's exactly what I have on my truck

I buy filters if they are Made in U.S.A. including Fram (not sure if they are still domestic made). If they filter oil, and aren't killing engines then they're fine, regardless of what the parts look like inside.

Have any of you personally lost an engine because your filter came apart? That's the sort of experience I would listen to.

There is no doubt that the WIX filters use better materials and design. That makes for it doing a better job, across a couple of parameters, using the oil filter as an example.

But who makes Mopar brand oil filters?

Wix makes Mopar filters, but to a higher standard compared to over the counter Wix filters, especially for water retention.

Of course, MoPar filters have to meet Chrysler warranty standards and are tested for millions of miles across all the vehicle lines at Chelsea, Arizona, fleets, etc.
