I was looking for an old red top battery to gut out and put a smaller battery inside and stumbled across this old Mopar display battery. I guess this was the Everstart before Walmart.

So I guess it is like Walmart's Everstart!!!!
I believe that battery would be from around 1976 though 1982. A neat find.

Since finding this display battery I ordered a new red top, so I guess I will run the new one until it dies before gutting it and use this for a conversation piece.

Looks like the battery is on it's side when the case is installed on the battery tray. Is it meant to operate that way?

It is a dry cell battery. It can be mounted in any direction.

I have the same set up on my 451 ci with 11.5 cr.
this Odyssey PC 925 is on my Charger since 10 years.
