New from Tennessee - 1970 Charger R/T SE

Welcome from another 70' R/T S.E. & 70 500 S.E. Owner. Nice car you have.

Have you joined Music City Mopar Club?
I have not but I will check them out!

Sounds like it may be what I'm dealing with, an out of balance engine. If so, you'll have to pull the engine & send the rotating assembly out for balancing. Perhaps that's why "wannafraud" sold it?
It's possible. Either way it was far below what a perfect one goes for so I was prepared for some issues.

Hello from Iowa! BTW it was 55 here a couple days ago! You must have taken the nasty weather with you
Our temps have been pretty awesome for the most part but man the rain won't stop!

Welcome from Michigan and awesome car you have there.:luvplace:
Had a 54 Desoto and had some great times with that car.
Thanks! I am hoping to get my 46 on the road this summer!

Nice Car !!
Thanks!

Hello from Wyoming, Great looking Charger I have one that’s very similar!

Very nice!

Sounds a lot like Memphis! Hey, Howyadoin, welcome! I'm a hopin to be gravitating to that state soon, hopefully this summer.
Thanks! Where are you coming from?

Welcome. You mentioned a vibration....check the heighth of your tranny mount.
It happens at a stop with the clutch in so I don't think it's tranny related, has to be in the rotating assembly somewhere as far as I can tell.

Welcome!
Beautiful.
I saw your note on the vibration.
I would suggest check u-joints and particularly the rear u-joint straps, make sure the snap rings are installed on the cups on the differential.
Sometimes they are tricky to get installed and people just skip them and overtighten the straps.
It occurs at a stop with the clutch in or out so it doesn't seem to be related to ujoints. :(

Welcome to FBBO from NorCal Sierras

nice Charger
Thanks!

Beautiful! great find
Thanks!

Welcome to the site, from Missouri

Welcome from NJ !!!! Love the color combo !!!!
Thank you! I love it!

Welcome. Have fun on the tour.
I'll try if I can get the car together enough to take it

Well I love the 70 Chargers, but i am a bit wacky... Had a chance to move to Nashville for work, turned it down.. but liked the area outside downtown..
I do too honestly, always have.
Outside of downtown is fine, downtown itself is... meh.

Welcome from North Carolina. I am an Owner/Operator truck driver and my terminal is in Nashville. I don't know where you work, but downtown Nashville is awesome. Every city has it's bad neighborhoods, downtown Nashville is nothing like you described. And if you think Nashville traffic is "unspeakable, don't ever visit the eastern seaboard. Washington DC at 10pm is worse than Nashville at rush hour. We won't even talk about NYC!! Good luck with your Charger, the previous owner is a real tool.
The main issue is the 440 bypass which is a dead stop frequently. When I worked downtown it took my 90 minutes to travel 20 miles every single night, which got old. Now I work on the outskirts of town and due to traffic I have opted to work nights and weekends just to avoid it. I'm not saying it's the worst city ever as far as traffic but those that live here are very much in agreement that it's awful.

Welcome from another 70' R/T S.E. & 70 500 S.E. Owner. Nice car you have.
Thanks!

Also, sorry for disappearing, I had a vet emergency with our Dachshund blowing a disc out in her back so that made for an awful and busy weekend.

70 charger....best looking car ever . Welcome, from the looks of that air cleaner it should be plenty fast. lots of carbs under it. Make sure you leave a big carbon foot print wherever you go:thumbsup:

ncarter, if you want more traffic and rain, come too the Seattle area and the Pacific Northwest. Anyway. welcome too the FBBO with you very nice ride. I had a '68 Charger many years ago which I wish I hadn't traded in on a '71 Cuda. Oh well...:luvplace:
