Apparently their is one ´66 and early ´69 and one later according to a well known historian who has written a book about "Mopars". I have no reason to doubt this.
I need this early Street Hemi color... Can anyone help me here… or maybe his wrong after all... The Race Hemi Orange we can leave out here.
Thank you.

I have never heard of this. They (Mopar) only sell the Race Hemi Orange, and Street Hemi Orange. I like the Race Hemi Orange much better anyway. Street Hemi Orange looks too much like chevy orange to me.

Ok thanks. Well this "historian" (Jim Schild) has a lot of good info in his book, but it is not completely out of flaws…
Let´s see what happens.

There were two shades of orange used on street hemis. Early and late. I think the change was 1969, give or take.*

There you go... Know where I can find a can of the early one…
Thank you.

I have found two differernt orange paints too. Here is a topic on another site.. The paint in the second set of pictures is the same as my paint. Its a muted orange almost looks faded.. But the paint can says Hemi orange. Duplicolor and VHT both call them hemi orange but VHT is the lighter one and looks the same as the second set of pictures.

Here is my 440 with VHT Hemi.

This picture is of a 383 that I repainted. However you can see the color difference between the 2 paints. Side of the block is what the VHT looks like the other more orange stuff may be duplicolor.

I painted mine with a Rust-Oleum High Heat
2000F paint.
Reason ,it duplicated the color that was on
the original Hemi Color on my1966Street Hemi.
I just looked at the cap color on the can,it looks
close to a pale pumpkin.
There's no color on can, just had to match cap
to the color that was a match.

I think the race hemi orange is a more red orange and is 68 and before, street hemi orange is more of a yellow orange and was 69 and later if I remember correctly from what I read

Yes, I think the answer is found on Roger Gibons´webbsite, 66-early 69 and another after that, but I will give Johnpats idea a try first... Thank you

It matches really well. Have seen other Early Hemis
&it looks very close

The link beepbeepRR's post of the hemi intake looks correct. Have an original paint street hemi manifold in garage do you want a picture? I used a rust-o-lem orange use to be Omaha orange now ???

Thank you Fran, but it is still very hard to see in a picture. For example the differens in shade between day light and light from a lamp is crazy different on a picture…
I think this Rust-Oleum can is a good start. Found it here in Sweden and have all ready ordered + a can of Ground Color.
Thank you all for taking the time.

VHT Hemi Orange for me here. It looks darker than it really is in these pictures.

This is my 440 Little difference in lighting. More natural light hitting the front. This is VHT Hemi.

This was the 383 before. I think its the duplicolor. The orange on the back side of the block looks like that chevy ****.

Repainted and installed in the roadrunner.

These calve covers are painted VHT the heads are a weird orange.. Could be the chevy orange. This is why i pulled the engine and made it all one color.

Just one more thing... Did the ´64-65 Hemi Cars use this same Orange later used on the ´66 Street Hemi?
Want to know if there is a third Orange Engine Color.

If you look at the decal on the air cleaner of a
66 426Hemi that says 426Hemi the orange
back ground is the same color the engine should
be painted.

64-65 hemis were painted race hemi orange, which was different again. There were three shades of orange used on hemis. Don't ask me the difference.

Thanks, just what I thought...

Ma Mopar could be real confusing when she wanted to be...I don't think Ford restorers have this many problems with engine paint.
