Crusing the Mississippi Gulf Coast 10/5 - 10/12

I am here! 1st week off in a long time. I finally got the Roadrunner here, travel trailer got set up last night. Locked the keys in the only place you can lock them-the trunk- right after buying some groceries. Fortunately my boss came to the rescue and gave me a ride home to get my spare set. (of course that meant he got to see my "I'm on vacation at Cruisin the Coast" Mohawk hair cut) LOL. Anyway, I am flying solo until my wife joins me Wednesday night or Thursday along with the 4 Lab / Lab mixes. I will definitely be at Mopars at the Marina. Let me know in this thread if any of you will be here, and when. 20141006_183104.jpg

2019. Going. Darius too. Will skip MATSLV and Hot August Nights in 2019. Change of pace. Shipping the Mopars. Driving them the 2500 miles home. A week on the Gulf Coast and a week on the road. Gonna be good.

Thanks Dennis!
I forgot about my post in this thread!
I only had my car 7 months! Was my first whole week at CtC, and I was HOOKED!

If going this year, 2019, get moving. Darius and I are registerd and booked rooms at the Hampton in Biloxi on the beach. Filling up. Just have to ship cars, (vacation time, we will be driving back to California from the Gulf Coast and looking to hound members here along the way), get a flight going etc. Return route may be decided by weather. Southern or Mid West/West. Stoked and getting inside baseball from biomedtechguy.

October 6-13, 2019
Great week+ long event!
A couple of key events are Thursday Mopars at the Marina in Long Beach MS. and the biggest day of the event is the 2nd Saturday (Oct 12th). If you come there from the 6th to the 13th you still won't get to do everything you want to, but the longer you can stay the better. If you want to make it a long weekend, I recommend at the minimum to arrive Wednesday night and be ready to participate in Mopars at the Marina Thursday morning, and stay Saturday night the 12th because that 2nd Saturday is the biggest day, and then leave Sunday morning.
It will change your life for the better!
It's like stepping into a time machine, and the years peel away!

I have had a LOT of fun with my car and cruising with Dennis but I'm thinking this epic adventure is going to top them all!

If I had to convey just one, one of many reasons why CtC is such an amazing experience, it's this, and to some degree this happens whenever I drive my Roadrunner...
I'm a teenager in my mind again!!
It's so much fun, there are so many people there who "get it" and the rest of the people there appreciate (and many want or dream) of having what we do, but in my case and so many others, it's the "time machine" and our cars are the machines that bring us back to our younger days! I have no disappointment in my age now, I'll be 57 Monday, which looks and sounds funny when I see or say it, but the whole "car thing" takes me back to how I felt burning time, gas, and rubber cruising the Lakefront in New Orleans and that feeling of freedom and a kind of giddiness is hard to come by with the responsibilities that are constantly with me, ever present, in some ways those responsibilities are like weights or chains, and the FREEDOM of just being able to get out and DRIVE, have fun, be a "kid" again...
Priceless!
It is especially a big deal for me, because my car was always my ticket to freedom. It took me out of the house, away from the rules and restrictions of my parents dominion, and usually meant being around friends, and some of those same friends who were with me then, in our teens, are with me now, at Cruisin the Coast, and IT IS GREAT!

Similar here. Don’t forget the girls those times brought. That is a scary looking crew! Ready now for a Bloody Mary.

The guy with the Procharger t-shirt on, with the "functional description" of how they work boldly printed, is my best friend and he bought a 70 Roadrunner from another friend of mine back in 79. That car has been sold long ago, but he has a 70 Cuda that is in the shop getting body work and paint, he has a stroker 412? small block for it, and a 5 speed Tremec.
Right now he's working on a 87 Conquest TSi with a 2JZ 6 cylinder that is going to be an ANIMAL.
The rest of the people in that pic are either more recent acquaintances or people we've known for a while but not in the inner circle.
A note on the Bloody Mary drinks. That was my only drink that day. It has become a tradition for us to get/have at least one Bloody Mary on the last Saturday in Bay St. Louis because one of our close friends took a pic with us, at a bar on the route of the show there, the day I discovered the outstanding drinks they were mixing so close to the action. He passed away almost 2 years ago, so in remembrance of him and celebration of our still being alive, we toast at least one on that day.
They are GOOD too!

Looks like a good guy to have on your side. Photos of me with a drink are also the only one I had that day.

Picture or drink??? ;-)
can't wait for this trip. Gonna love meeting new folks and being face-to-face with people we have been chatting with on here for years. As the time nears, we will have a thread about our plans so others might look us up when we are there.
