The Build: 1972 Satellite

Got a delivery tonight of my new used bumper. Also got everything but the dash out, hopefully have that out tomorrow. Finally, my center console has paint on it any good suggestions on how to get it off without destroying the plastic? Also any idea on why there are three holes for where the headliner rods go?

I did a test run on my A pillar plastic that the past paint shop oversprayed onto and soaking it in this worked nice to make the paint disappear. Just be sure to rinse it WELL as soon as you see the paint is gone.

Also imagine Easy Off oven cleaner and paint stripper will work as well.

If you need help with the dash, be glad to take a look at it. Most of my gauge resto hobby business is 66/67 Charger, but I've restored about a dozen 71-74 B Body Rallye dashes...

So, I got the dash out last week and got everything off the dash as the week went on. Today, I decided to clean up the AC controls. As you can see there are quite a number of pieces to this control. Only thing that didn't turn out as satisfactory as I had hoped was the clear plastic, so tomorrow I will be buying some 800-1200 or more gritgsandpaper to get the plastic perfect.

Started working on taking the front end apart. Only issue that I found was a damaged radiator core support, which will now need to be replaced. Has anyone done this? Is it something that I can do at home by myself or will I need to have someone with alignment equipment do this to ensure it is straight?

So this week has been a busy week of working on the car. Got the car completely stripped and took it to the blasters today. Here's a picture I took on Wednesday and some from this morning loaded on the trailer. Finally here's one of it sitting in front of the blasters.

Ordered a complete QA1 front suspension Wednesday night and just got it delivered by UPS. Now the only piece I need is new torsion bars, I've been leaning toward the hotchkis 1.1" bar, but am also considering the firm feel bars. Does anyone have any suggestions on this?

Been a couple months since I last updated this thread. Got the satellite back from sandblasting and finally started making some progress. Replaced the lower core support and started my driver side quarter panel patch, hopefully, be finishing the patch tomorrow and starting on replacing the passenger side quarter, trunk gutter, and trunk floor extension.
