What did you do to your Mopar today?

Got Therapy turned around and ready to load. Back to the painter for cut and buff on Tuesday and I'll be starting on grill restoration while she's gone.

Installed door-end seals, a-post weatherstrip rails, and did a temporary detail of my vert-top latches. Gotta get some better ones. I also found a mistake in assembly, that'll need a bit of engineering to correct and look good. I have to install the heater/water valve, inline under the hood. It may require pulling the intake and making new parts. GRRRRRRRRRRR. So far, this is the only major oversight in this build.

Car wash in carport. 68 and sunny. Used clay bar too. Found an easy way, leave it lathered with suds instead of $$$ detail spray. It will be wearing these clothes for a while yet. Run the buffer tomorrow. Miles next week.

You could hire some poor furloughed federal government worker to do it for cheap. :)

Figured out most of the Pioneer too. Man it does everythingg. No teens around here. Youtube.

Like the stance and wheel tire combo. Different. Nice. Jealous of cars and garage!

Thanks, bought those wheels with my hard earned $1.65/hr part time job in 1979. They're more of a "memories" item for me, the Magnum 500's might take their place later on. The stance, I wish the *** end would come down and hope it does when the interior goes in. I did nothing but clean, paint and reassembly the 50 year old springs with new interliners and clamps and it's sitting a good 2" higher than it was. It's almost 5 inches higher than my (sagging) Birds wheel well lip.

The "garage" is supposed to be full of these.. hard to build outside.

It will settle in with wear. I wouldn’t touch a thing. My wheels are “wrong but on for 30 years and I like em. What a nice ride. Go work on the grille.

Last couple of put rear in Satellite. Had it on jack and it nosed off. After that I bolted a 12 x12 1/2 piece of plywood to swivel. Today put nut that Wagonman supplied me on front spring perch. Hooked up e-brake cable, Almost done had wrong driveshaft in car, it was from a 66 Charger. It's 1 inch longer, removed it and put the right one in. Turned bolt that I left in yoke and it's belt because it fell off jack. See want ad.

Cleaning all the bits and pieces in preparation for reassembly. Dropped the heads off on Thursday and got a call on Friday afternoon that they were ready. Obviously, they kknew who they were dealing with when I walked in the door.

Was finally able to spend some time & remove the rear axle & leaf springs.......Jim

Spent some time cleaning the real axle/leaf spring related parts. The hangers, u-bolt/spring plates & shackles appeared to have remnants of cosmoline. The pinion snubber & rear axle bump stops are original, in good shape & will be reused. Next is a soak in evaporust.....Jim

The block is back from the machine shop with new crosshatch. Removed old rings, cleaned pistons, rods, bearings, etc., installed new ring packs, and 8 pistons back in block. Installed new solid roller cam. Degrees bang on.
Interesting note that the cylinder with the highest leak down was missing one ring from the original build.
Test fit the windage tray and it needs some trimming to clear the oil pickup tube. Another interesting note is that a windage tray was on the original build list, but not in the motor.

Got the nutserts for the door mirror installed. Back started hurting more.....so back to the idiot-box. I also ordered a single piece of a cat-whisker-set. Nobody ever noticed that the left NOS door-skin, was for 71-74. Holes and screws, instead of clips and slots. It's stupid **** like that....that'll drive ya nuts.

Bumped wiper switch. They moved to full up and quit. Used the magic of a nudge and they started working. EFI Tablet shows coolant at 167 mild conditions. After market gauge says under 160. This is good, thought it was too cool. Not fully warm. Kissed 178 ish the cycled. Fun to watch in happy times. Self learn activated precisely. Happy.
