1969 Dodge Super Bee Coupe Restoration

White tail stripe and the "Pentastar" truck (as you say) wheels stay for now. I bought them with my hard earned pennies in 1979 so they get to hang on for now. I may swap the raceways onto the magnum 500's later and the BF's on to these.

I was hoping it was a white stripe....

No, I was thinking of leaving the reflectors off... :canada:.

Seriously.... the bezels will be painted WHITE and be correct!

Thanks!

Had to set it in place before the car leaves for a bit and see what it looks like. Even sits in place by itself it fits so well.

Looking at that, did Ma Mopar black out the rear bumper attach bulkhead so you don't see body colour around the licence plate?.. or did it stay body colour?

I don't know. But the shadows make it extremely hard to see with the license plate installed. Mine is not blacked-out and you can't see the body color.

Not a great day to be out there setting up a brand new hitch assembly, -24C/-37C WChill, but I'm ready to load and take Therapy to her beauty appointment in the morning.

I imagine it's an anti-rattle spring to make up for mfg tolerances between inner and outer sleeves, the lower bearing etc. This is the only column I've taken apart, for manual steering / floor shift. Is yours floor or column shift?

Out you go..

The big 35 foot drive.

Lots of White "Smoke" this morning. -22/23 C outside. Still trying to find my finger tips after strapping her down.

Strapped in ready to roll.

Winter mural scene on the fender.

Two shots the wife grabbed from the kitchen window.

Made it to the beauty shop on time. Can't wait to get her back.

Also, seeing I was already half way there I took my AMD Back Glass back to National Moparts in Gamebridge and Nigel gave me 100% of my money back.

decided not do the amp to volt conversion on your dash do you not believe in that modification, just curious for your opinion of it. thanks

Johnny as an Electro-Mechanical Engineer I fully understand the wiring and it's issues... that and as a 16 year old kid I put the dash fire out in our '69 Fury II by disconnecting the battery and throwing sand up under the dash while on the side of the road. Fire got so bad I was able to dump sand DOWN through the dash as well! I saved it and rewired it and drove it for another 2 years and that fire taught me to stare at the amp gauge. That said, the Bee has lasted 50 years on what it had for wiring.. some of it getting pretty warm and deformed. Every bulkhead connector has been replaced, all terminals clean, tight and I'm good to go. My SuperBird is no different, no issues to date with OE wiring and if it burns, well apparently I can auction the hull off for good money even after the insurance company pays me out on agreed value! :drinks:

i agree with your thinking about that also, these cars has lasted decades with what they are borned with, proper care and cleaning etc even replacing old parts with new parts like new wiring harness inside and out, that was my route all new wiring and bulk head replaced, and no high power stuff added,i understand some people do not agree and that is fine with me,i did not convert my gauges.car is pretty much the way it came from factory or will be,no hi powered additions that will tax the electrical systems.

Johnny, To lighten the amp load I even removed the EIGHT watt (4 per channel) 8 track player that my old girlfriend bought me for the car in 1980!!

All I can say is wow . The Bee is going to look incredible . I think all my trim might show up at your door . Lol

Not right now Peter... wife's got me sucked into Kitchen reno right now. Seeing the car is gone from the nest she thought it was the perfect opportunity, although I really should be working on my grill !!

Once I get the Bee done and the Bird ready for Talladega... and a couple airplanes done for resale... I MAY then start taking on some MOPAR work...

Just pulling your leg . If your wife knows you've got free time she'll put you to work .
Stay hidden with a cold beer occasionally drop a wrench on the floor .

Fender has been hand sanded of "nibs" and George now wet sanding with 3000 infusion paper.

Ken wet sanding a few spots by hand that he doesn't like on the roof before he lets George (the shop owner) loose with the orbital and 2000 then 3000 infusion paper.

Both guys in action. They've been a "cut and polish" team for almost 2 decades. Ken has actually moved on to another shop in the past year, he came in just to do my car!

George on the roof, you can see the passenger side hasn't been done yet. It's showing Ken's hand sanded spots still.

Ken polishing the fender and a long way to go to get around the car from there. Just above the wheel well done so far here.

George on the passenger side of roof with 3000.

Shot shows forward fender still in 3000 and Ken polishing from mid way back.

Gonna be gorgeous.

Roof in 3000 only, hasn't been polished yet.

Looking for a "stock" PPG paint to match the tape stripe, so we can paint the marker bezels as W1 White paint code is solvent based and everything is water base in Canada.. except of course custom paints like my HOK Blue.
