Pulled a 5.2 out of a Dakota.
Wish to reuse it in a few years. Will be under a roof, whats the best way to keep it from siezing?

I was going to pour Hydraulic oil in on top of each piston and spray penetrating oil in each exhaust hole before putting the manifolds back on and placing the engine in an out building.
 
Marvel mystery oil in the spark plug holes, spin the engine once in a while.
 
My 440 sat for 18 years without any attention in an unheated garage in Michigan with no ill effects.

Engine fogger. Spray into the cylinders through spark plug holes, reinstall plugs then rotate the engine a couple of full revolutions. Since its aerosol you dont have to worry about hydrolock if you accidentally overfill it. Repeat steps once a year. If you go the marvel route use a oil squirt can to avoid overfilling the cylinders. I also recommend spraying the plug threads or applying anti-seize before reinstalling them. Once you fog the motor you probably should not use these plugs again for anything but storage. On my jetski with a Honda 4 cylinder I would save the storage set and reinstall them when I fogged it. Those iridiums where $14 a piece.
 
My 340 sat in an unheated garage for 27 years with no spark plugs, carb, or exhaust manifold, and it was rebuilt with no issues. Needless to say, there was a lot of dust and dead moths in the oil pan!
 
I sprayed a 383 with WD40 inside and out. Covered it with 2 garbage bags. No problem after 20+years. I would open it up and respray every couple years. (No valve covers or oil pan.)
 
Good tips, mine sat for 15+, a little ‘Marvel’ in the holes, week or so later did an oil prime, new plugs; fire it off. Change oil after thorough warmup, good to go. YMMV.

No. It probably had 15,000 or more miles on it. I did prelube it before starting.The seats in the car didn't fair so well, the mice tore out most of the padding to build a nest the size of a basket ball inside the cowl-of course! Lots of vacuuming and blowing to remove it.

I don't think it really matters what kind of oil you use. I usually just pour engine oil or transmission fluid in the plug holes, whatever I have laying around that needs used up is what goes in then turned over. Make sure to seal up the exhaust too.
 
I like this idea, but it would be very difficult to turn it over. I think if you fogged it and removed the rocker shafts you would be good for years.
