Just wondering......how many members have sold a car through our classified section, and if so, what was it?

Tried several over the years here..................No takers and then sold them for a lot more on Craig's list and eBay.
Wouldn't even bother here any more...............
Same with parts.

Sold my 79 300 and my 68 Valiant. Sure it's hit or miss, it's all in the timing. Both were only 4 figure cars.

Never sold a car here...listed a few oddball parts and sold a few of those...
Most here are educated and have an idea of the value's of something they're looking for...something common yet desirable will command more money elsewhere...( B Body HP manifolds for instance)
It all boils down to the fact that the hardcore guys are a bunch of cheap bastards...myself included...

Uncommon...year or date code specific items that only more hardcore guys are looking for may do fine...
The fact the general public is less educated on what something may be worth will usually lead to getting more money out of it...

Bought a 66 Belvedere several years ago from another member here. After that project wasn't going anywhere advertised it here and on CL and got hits from both. Sold it locally to a guy that saw it on CL. Sold lots of parts on here though.....

Bought one from a member .. got screwed .. Never can tell where you will run into an asshole. Sold a few parts..good and bad experiences, just like anywhere else. Kind of surprised by that, expected more.

I bought two cars from here & both were good experiences. Bought a few parts also..no problemo.

That right there is 'so spot on right/correct assessments'
it's downright funny...

I don't advertise to sell much, if any,
but I've sold a few things on here
always a relatively good experience
even when they too much of a cheapskate/price-point shopper
to know a good deal/buy in the 1st place :poke:

I'd never try to pass on some overpriced rusty ol' junk
ever, I won't even offer it if I don't think its good...
I'd hope that is what most of my fellow & standup honest
FBBO members would try to do too...

Shipping $$$ for heavy car parts, is a real killer,
sometimes a deal breaker...
It's rarely a guy close, that wants them...
Seems it's always a guy in rural bum-**** nowhere :carrot:
way across the country, in the rust belt, NE or East coast
or the damn bayou's :moparsmiley: , that wants them

But never bought or sold a whole car, on here "YET"...

Hey now, Houston is called the bayou city....but I call it the flood city. Are you sure you're not thinking about the swamp areas that's supposed to be bayous? lol

that was a 'little dig/all in fun"
to a former prospective buyer/member

meant as an inside joke I guess, I figured he'd see it 1st

Sold some small stuff ages ago, and been buying parts regularly off members here. Also given away some parts to people who deserve them.
Only had two bad experiences...one was a 489 with sure-grip and gears - lot of two. I gave one of the heads to my buddy as a thank-you for his work on my cars...and it works great. The other one needed some serious work - gears were damaged, spiders were smashed and the S/G hub needs some cleaning up....luckily my re-builder guy was gentle on the pricing for me.
The other bad experience was thanks to a scamming prick who is now Banned from FBBO....bought and paid for a pair of wheels that just simply never turned up. Thanks to the members here for sharing his details on eBay and other places....a bit late for me, but will hopefully save someone else one day.

Sold my 73 Charger SE here a few months ago. Only lasted two weeks. Good experience.

I blasted the guy I bought it from, also tried to stick me with a $300 COD on the cars delivery, prick.. he is no longer around here, he had hundreds of posts.. and I forgot that I bought one from a member in OK., but it wasn't advertised here so they said I couldn't post it as a bad seller. I don't know why you would think you can trust a member, someone you really don't know. I would like to think you can, but money does funny things to people. I've sold a few parts here and made sure it's was good exchange.
