Hi guys -

Is anyone running an edelbrock carb? I can’t figure out how my kickdown cable is suppose to fit. I have a 904 transmission Any pictures or advice?

More information about your situation would help. fyi --> Edelbrock carburetors = Carter carburetors (Edelebrock bought Carter).

I will "assume" you have a small block engine (318?) and also "assume" you added a 4-barrel Edelbrock carburetor (?). Of the top of my head, I'm thinking you might need the kickdown linkage setup from a 4-barrel car (???), like a 340 4bbl., 360 4bbl. or police 318 4bbl. I honestly don't know....maybe contact @rumblefish on this site? He is very knowledgeable about small blocks.

Get the Edelbrock 1481 Mopar throttle lever adapter. Allows you to run the factory throttle pin and original linkage.

Yup, you need this bracket posted above.

And you need this throttle pin.

And it will look something like this.

Pin needs to move in that slot, green spring pictured the linkage up against the pin. The linkage is designed that way to prevent any throttle pressure linkage components from interfering with the throttle closing or initiating an unintended acceleration situation.

Throttle pressure linkage adjustment on the later style is towards the back, this adjustment is locked down with a ¼” bolt.

You mention kickdown cable, but from the factory they used rods for kickdown. I converted 74 Duster 318 to a 4 bbl Edelbrock but used a Lokar cable for kickdown to the trans.

I used the Edelbrock throttle bracket 1481 on the 1406 carb and the Chrysler stud for the throttle. I believe the Lokar cable has the adapter for that throttle bracket to attach the cable.
