Hood question

Ive seen a few with a hood similar to a challenger hood.

Which Challenger hood are you thinking about?

I've seen it done as well. Seen the Shaker and the "raisin bran" scoops on Chargers and on other models as well. Custom work though.

I went out and measured the hood on the 70 T/A Challenger in my garage and compared that to my 72 RR. Now figuring that the Charger's hood goes about to where my bumper is because the Charger's didn't have a header panel like the RR does, I figure the Challenger hood is around 4 inches short (could be more). That and the fact that it isn't going to line up with the tops of the fenders or anything up front at all. The width is probably ok though.

It just goes back to what I said earlier... If you have skill with a mig welder and sheet metal, and a lot of patience, it's very possible to put a scoop like that on your hood. If you're looking to bolt a Challenger hood up and go, not going to work.

If you want to make it happen, you might look at cutting up one of the newer Challenger's hoods or buying a skin for one of those since they'll surely be cheaper and easier to mess with while having a very similar look if you're looking for that "raisin bran" 2 scoop style hood. Could probably make something like that work on one of those flat 3rd gen Charger hoods. Just another option. Either way, it's just going to take time and patience.

I searched and found these pics. These guys just grafted the scoop section from the Challenger to the flat hoods like I mentioned.

Sorry......as a farmer once said in a movie........its like putting an elevator in an outhouse - it don't belong. Personally, 3rd gens should have the bulge hood, but there are folks that love the Challenger hood on a Charger. To each their own.

Well found a power bulge hood in a barn in my town. Chances of this find were like winning the lottery haha. I asked what he wanted for it and he said just put it on a car it's been sitting for a long time. Paid less then $200.00 for the hood and a full black interior think I did well.

Yes, I'd say that's a good deal.

Found it in a barn? That seems odd. Just walked into a random barn and... lo and behold ??

Yes I agree. WTF now we have barn find hoods??? Are people randomly searching barns trespassing onto private properties peeking in barns??? Or did the you know the guy and he had it stored in his barn? If so then that's not a barn find.

And on top of that was the building structure that said hood was in actually a barn? You know an actual barn where animals live. Or was it a pole building, garage, shed, shop or storage unit but we're calling it a barn to be labeled that way.

smh

Actual barn no animals currently living in it. A guy my father knows told us of the gentleman. We went to see what he had and he had the hood. Not sure why this is so hard to understand.

I would not trespass I arrest people for doing so haha. And it was a barn just no animals currently living in the barn.
