this 68 RR near me piqued my interest

When I see these ads I always seem to wonder, what did this car just sell for last week, at Mechum Auction. Lots of new ads pop up after auctions.

might be another scam...
look at the reply, theres no fone number/contact info and its a cl reply only.

also,Brian, please dont take this the wrong way,
but never post a car you are seriously interested in until after you have bought it.
if you need advice beforehand, ask one of the pros here in a Pm.

err didn't notice my hidden sarcasm regarding my plan to layout $40K for this one!

Looks like a nice car just sharing. Scam? No idea. Certainly would recommend putting their hands on it before any considerations are given.

If that was a factory 4 barrel car wouldn't that engine have been painted orange? I thought only the two barrel motors were that color back then? I'm not experienced with some of the finer details of pre 72

No, '68 would have the "corporate blue" IIRC engine color

Corporate blue or tb3 was 72 and up. .so 68 big block 4 barrel cars were turquoise rather than orange? Or was orange paint a 69 to 71 4 barrel engine thing?

Which that is not. It may be the sun angle but that engine is more of a baby blue. I smell a fish for more reasons than one.
The clock is one more reason. Not sure if the 68 Birds ever came with one even with the decor package. They were on the cheap the first year.
$15k starting bid.

again only the green survive
Very true. .my 68 charger was a gg1 green car originally
And a 73 charger I had was green and my 71 Plymouth is still green. .seems like I've only had luck finding the green ones around me! nothing against that but it was evidently a very popular color

Thats the way I set my adds up on there. They contact you through Craigslist. That way you can accept or deny making contact with them. If they sound legit then you can give them your contact info. If you show your phone number or email address you'll get bombarded with scammers.

Looks like a tac to me.

Nice car, maybe a bit much.

Fun fact....Appleton , WI is the hometown of Navy Corpsman John H. Bradley, who was misidentified in the famous Iwo Jima flag raising picture. Still a hero on an island where "uncommon valor was a common virtue."

that doesnt stop them,as they still email you the scams and it limits your customer base,
as most of us figure its a fishing expedition with no contact info.
and, nothing is more frustrating than trying to get a hold of someone thru that automated system,
only for them to reply weeks later that they " just sold the car ".

I always use the encrypted craigslist contact only.

No one gets your personal phone number or email that way.

Looks legit. Same here about CL. That’s how my ads look, no phone number. Plenty of $$$ for that one. $30-32k is all of it sight unseen IMO.
