THE BLOCK, by Muscle Motors

Not sure of your point . Biomed guy wanted a wedge block , that was my responce . I recently bought a new unused World block , yes i coud have bought 2 or 3 sbc blocks for the same price .
You want it you buy it , dont complain about $
I am not complaining , here in Australia i am at about 1.4 x USA price after exchange . Then i have 10% tax on delivered cost plus sometimes a import duty and credit card fees .
I just try not to break too much

Tex

Price wise; a 800 horse rat can be bought for what a 700 horse big block mopar can be built at home by yourself. (blueprint engines)
A 600 horse sbc is easier and cheaper that a 600 horse mopar anything. Has nothing to do with importing in or out of the country !
That being said , I do have a mopar , and not my first!

I looked last night ad said 1 sold 9 left. Checked sold/completed listings and said sold. Don't know what to tell you, sold all 9? I posted because it said 9 available. Just went to Jegs website put one in cart no out of stock warning, didn't go to check out.
:thankyou:

I don't know either...

I was referring to the link in the post, on E-scam, not Jegs site

I don't have the coin right now, anyway either

Sent a message to jegs through ebay asking if they sold "9 Hemi blocks in 14 hours or am I nuts?". At least they didn't tell me I was nuts. Response:

I have been researching hemi options for a 69 GTX of mine. (Not # matching.) And I was excited about "The Block" option? But what I'm seeing is just what is described here on the thread. Far more confusing than actual set options. And not just this one Muscle Motors option.

A little off topic but :wtf:. I was trying to decide between a 55 Chevy and a 65 Coronet and the deciding factor for me was that every other person and their pet monkey has a Chevy so I wanted to be a little different.

Has anyone heard of a hemi drilled short deck attempt with one of these blocks? I understand it opens some intake issues. But has some interesting possibilities?

I would think the push rod angles would be the biggest issue with a short deck Hemi.

It is an issue. I have a 451 B-block. With BME aluminum rods. (Long story why. But got set for $500.) And they barely clear .600 lift cam. Anything bigger? (Which most are. And raised cam? Or lifter/rod angle?) But I'm a believer in the B-block stroker. TI rods would help. But heard they are tough on bearings? Let alone $$$$$. And now thinking about push rod angle? That maybe an additional issue with half the push rods. It may not be feasible?

You're right. I didn't think of the difference in pushrod angle? I finished a B-block stroker. For my drag race Duster. I'm a believer in the B-block stroker. But a hemi drill? Does change geometry. The wedge 451 with aluminum BME rods barely clear cam lobes. Let alone a change in lifter and push rod angle? It may not be feasible.

I had to make clearance on my Standard deck height 528" Hemi due to larger o.d. and thicker wall push rods because of my custom nitrous ground cam is on the rather large size.

Wow. And a short deck certainly doesn't make it better. I was thinking of a 528. 4.5 with 4.15" stroke. But I think I might be in fantasy world? I have not built a hemi. but alot more to consider.

The motor is in the car and running.. my 1st fire up

Nice. I see you had it drilled RB wedge? That sounds like a tough build. By all means, let us know your thoughts on block performance and durability. That block and it's webbing should be a significant increase in reliable consistency.

Any news of availability by Bulldog or any engine vendor would also be valuable? Most the stories I hear are sit and wait.

I posted a comment. Sounds GREAT and your car looks good too!
Keep us posted!

looks like a nasty cross wind too

guy in the other lane was getting a 'tad bit' impatient

sounded pretty nice, look it spun too

We have one of these blocks in Hemi form. I can tell you so far it’s been decked, mains line bored, cylinder bores rehoned and had the cam tunnel honed to fix everything. What a mess.

Hemmirunner, how recent was this block made?....talked to them last week, told me 5 to 8 weeks for a block...forgot to ask how much deposit they want...(hope they dont expect 100% down)

I’d have to find the email but I think he wants $1500 down.

I don’t know the date it was received, but would have been one of the early blocks. The machining on both the mains and cam tunnels needed a bunch of work. The feed was too high and it left ridges. Luckily there was sufficient material in the cam tunnel. The casting itself looks like a good piece. Compared to other options, it’s still a decent value.
