Post Your Favorite Seventies Music

Back in the day, 1972, we would go to K-SHE night at the many drive in theater. It's the oldest rock station in the country and it's right here in St Louis. You would go to the studio window while they were on the air and knock on it and they would give you free passes. One night we were in the front row by the screen and they introduced this band from Texas. They played for awhile and the drummer broke one of his sticks and he threw it at me, mind you we were sitting on the ground 20 feet away. I took it home and just kept it. Years later after I got married my wife asked me for a stick to put in her plant to hold it up. I gave her that drum stick and that was the end of that. As the plant got bigger she needed a longer stick so I cut her one and put away the drum stick, why, just because. Years later it hit me after they became famous I had something pretty cool. You see that basically unknown band was to become..........ZZ TOP..... LOL . You can't make that up!!!

Probably my favorite band of all-time. The original band was pure genius. School's-Out is probably their best album, but there are no full-album listings on you-tube. I'll bet Bob Ezrin had his hands full. LOL

And here is when our differences became obvious, not because they are bad or wrong, but because I grew up in a different country with a different culture, but this, the difference, is what makes the humanity great, my dad (RIP) love the rock from the 70's, but also teach me to listen another kind of music, Latin American music, and I love it, this two songs are from the 70's, and ib spanish one from Uruguay, the name of the singer is Alfredo Zitarrosa and the lyrics talk about a lost love and in the end you realize she is a prostitute, beautiful song, the name of this song is Stephanie,

and the other song is from a Peruvian singer, María Isabel Granda Larco better know as Chabuca Granda this song is about how she idealized his man and a horse also beautiful song

I started my life as blues and Motown man, but rock is my real life. BB King was a legend and a little fact about him, he couldn't play and sing at the same time

Thrill is Gone is the national anthem of the blues in my book.
