Getting ready to purchase a radiator with dual fans and I am wondering if I will need to buy the wiring kit since I will be using the Holley sniper efi dual fan controls. Can Anyone using efi to control their fans chime in and explain how it’s set up. The wiring kit is an extra $100 and I’m thinking I won’t need it with the fan control ability of the sniper, sure would hate to waste $100

On the MSD atomic the unit turns on/off the ground connection. So you power the fan with like a 20-30 amp fuse and wire the Negative side back to the controller. On the MSD they can be programmed for different settings.
Works perfect for me. I'm guessing the Holley is done similarly.

I have an electric fan connected to FAN 1.....it switches the fan on at a preset of 190deg. I also run my 5 blade on a clutch unit with a shorty Hayes .....can show pics tonight.....at work right now. I have a video of my Sniper running and you can see the temperature flick over at 190 and see the Fans come on.

Check this out at roughly 6min mark onwards. Wiring is easy....I used a 30amp relay near the fan.

Edelbrock has provisions on tablet. Don’t have electric fans on mine. FYI.

The $100 wiring kit consists of a relay, thermostat, which I wouldn’t use and some wiring. I’d use the Holley thermostat I can get a relay anywhere if I need it and I have more spools of wiring than I know what to do with.

Oh Incase anyone is wondering I talked to Holley tech yesterday about using their pro dash with a sniper and they said as of now you can’t but they’re working on a firmware update for the sniper systems which will make it compatible

Yes it likely is, I forgot to mention that in my earlier post. The transistor in the EFI unit is probably only rated for 1-2 amps. A fan will draw much more.
I had some relays with wiring from a security system that I used. You need the relay to switch the higher load.

Holley stuff just sends a ground to trigger (must use a relay) relay. That’s how my buddy has his Terminator set up. I used Derale fans with the PWM, along with their new sender. It sticks to the bottom radiator tank via 3m tape and you adjust the fans to come on when you want. Doesn’t use any relays. It’s bad ***!
