It seems to me like an after thought league, and a bit touchy feely. I get that some things in football are dangerous, but to completely take kicking out of the game, that's right, no extra points, no kick offs, and no onside kicks. Lame if you ask me. I don't see this working well, plus no blitzing from the secondary, and can only rush 5 players. I like that they associate it to the second string players in the NFL as the level of ability for players in this league, which isn't all that bad, but with the rules, they may as well just play flag football!

I might watch just for curiosity, but like Canadian football league and arena football, I doubt I will be that into it.

I'll check it out...

starts Sat. 2-9-2019 5:00pm pst (8:00pm east) on CBS IIRC

2nd string NFL players,
2nd chances for many of the old coaches too
IMO is better than 99.9%
of all the rest of the football leagues out there
or they'd be in the NFL to begin with...

(even if the NFL shot themselves in the foot, lost 40% viewership
not nipping it in the bud, with the 'Colon Peckerneck' deal)

I hate or dislike most all other winter televised sports...
I dislike baseball on TV, but live it's great
I hate basketball, especially the NBA
(I barely even tolerate NCAA tournament)
it's all just a bunch of over active pituitary glands
hanging from the rim, no thanks

I don't mind skiing...

I don't mind Hockey, live in person
I don't like it on TV

I'll take second rate, football over most any or all of them...

Football is a great TV sport IMO

I do love me some football...
I didn't get a good fix this season from the NFL...
This season I only really watched my Raiders
occ. my dads team the 49er's, if nothing better is on
or it's too cold out etc., I'm not a 49er's fan at all...

I'll wait to see it, until I make the call,
on how good or bad it is...

Going to be a real snoozer. I want to watch opening games but that’s as far as I’m likely to go. I like real football.

Correction: real American football is long gone. The rest of the world has that other version.

I don't understand... you mean there's another sport besides HOCKEY?!?

I’m watching the first AAF game as we speak. Not so bad if you’re a footballaholic as I am. They’re not trying to compete with the NFL. Rather they want to become a developmental league - kind of like the minor leagues in baseball. Me thinks there is a market for it - it’s all about the finances. Can they afford it?

I have to admit it wasn't bad, but the need to fix the issue with audio dropping out because the were bleeping out the bad language. I think since they had microphones everywhere that's why it was dropping.

I watched a little of a couple games

it was OK
I relate it to, like the Arena Football League
a lot of defense instead of/opposed to lost of offence
(like the AFL is/was)

the game today Salt Lake vs Arizona,
was a pretty good game
best of the parts of games I saw
(I like Arizona Hotshots coaching,
HC Rick Neuheisel & DC Nick Aliotti, the old Oregon Ducks DC)

some different rules for sure

it's a developmental league
aired on CBSSN, NFL Net., CBS, TNT Net.

I may watch more this next weekend too

Football that doesn't kneel or slam some lame social justice issue down my throat?
No wonder it crushed the NBA in ratings!
Sign me up
I will watch..

I watched the 2nd week of games, off & on
there were a couple of decent games

Arizona Hotshots
& Orlando Apollos
both look pretty good
