The 3 door Coronet novelty has worn off, I've decided to complete it into a 2 door.
It was a California rust free 273 V8 727 4 door.
I did the 4to3 back in 2011.
Looking for help and suggestions for the conversion to a 331 Hemi engine. Engine mounts, trans, suspension, headers, exhaust, hood scoop etc.
Additional Pictures forth coming later today.

Shouldn't have too much problem in a Coronet. Room should not be a problem. Probably will have to fab motor mounts. Tranny will be a SB 727
Using an adapter from Wilcap. My 354 in my Dart I had to loose the manual steering gear box . I went with a Rampage rack and pinion. You should not have to do that. You also might have to change oil pan to truck pan to get past steering arms if manual steering.

The 331 is not one I would use. Many different blocks were made. Some for autos and some industrial and some marine. Not all block are compatible with modern bellhousings or transmissions. Crankshafts are the type where the torque convertor bolted directly to the crank, adapters ans spacer plate required to use something more modern. Later 55-56 354 ci or 57-58 392 ci much more parts and accessories available. But check with Hotheads. They specialize in this type of stuff. Note Gen 1 Hemi's were very heavy and very wide. Clearance issues in some engine compartments at the exhaust manifolds. More power, lighter weight from anything post 60's. The look is what most people go for now with the Hemi valve covers...

He shouldn't have a problem in the Coronet . I've seen 392's in E Bodies. Yes stay away from early 331 with attached bell housing and also Desoto unless you loose the heads for a pair of Chryslers. You can give up about 120lbs if you opt for the hot Hot Heads aluminum heads. I probably dumped about 75lbs of old iron off my 354. The inner fender clearance was about a 1/4" each side in my Dart should be more in a Coronet. I used block hugger headers and had no issue. I used SB 727 with adapter from Welcap. It can be done . Do the research talk to Bob at Hot Heads really nice people.
