ive got a 63 Plymouth with the original drums on the front but want to go discs on the front. What components are necessary to make the conversion a reality? What parts from what cars? Any little tricks from gurus will be appriciated.

There are many places out there that sell kits to do what you are looking for. The only factor is your money. You can search all over junkyards to find spindles, brackets, backing plates, rotors and all the needed hardware. Or just buy a bolt on kit. Just google mopar from brake conversion and you will have many choices. Here is one of them below.

And this kit with drilled and slotted rotors.

I went with a kit from P-S-T, they are here on the forum, and enjoyed a 10% discount being forum member....the kit is made in Buffalo, company is Leeds Brakes. Very happy with results and components.....

Right Stuff Detailing disc brake conversion with master and all is still cheaper than BrandX not being a dick. But paying well over 900 bucks is just plain stupid. The Right Stuff kit is like 600 with master and booster.

I paid under 800 for mine, but to each his own!

:) I will remove the name of the vendor.. But Koosh you are correct. Im just thrifty.... errr cheap.

I just ordered my right stuff detailing kit through summit. $51 dollars off orders over $500 and free shipping.

Thank you the guru's also say you need to change the master cylinder to a dual Reservoir 15/16 bore

Yeah. I was just trying to get enough parts to put my suspension back together for now.

I went with PST Leed Brakes too, very good kit.

What did you do for a master cylinder 66 sat I have a 66 sat with a 440 with only 7 in of vacuum and I have a disc brake kit but don't have much for brakes with the original power booster ,going to go with a 15/16 manual disc drum master cylinder is that what you did

I don't know what size the master cylinder is sorry - it all came with the kit. It's nothing fancy - as per the photo - but it works really well. I actually never worry about if I'm going to stop which is a revelation for
