WPC Great Lakes Swap Meet - Detroit

I will be there as always. Also the Detroit meet Jan 5 at Suburban Show Place. Always come home with goodies.

Brought home some stuff from the Novi show. Mostly AMC.

I always go every year & usually drag something home that I don't need (yet).

I will be there. Introduce yourself if ya see me. Will be wearing the orange hat Piranha's Joes. Always come home with goodies from this swap meet.

I really need to set-up about 8-10 tables at that show.

Same here, but always so much work to load everything up, haul it all out there, price everything out & unload it all when I get back home. 1) Mopar weenies are cheap & never like to spend any money, even on $10-$50 items. 2) I don't have enough spare high dollar Hemi or Six Pack goodies worth selling.

Well....went today with a couple friends. I never did look at anything, as this is always a social-event. Talked with about a dozen people I know for about an hour, then we left. The show was a snore, from what I could tell. Great seeing my friends, though.

Only found 1 thing on my list. Also was disappointed in the rise in the prices on everything. :wtf:

If you want to sell your stuff it should be a requirement to have prices on everything. So many tables with no prices. Those that did have prices marked, I would agree. So much stupid expensively priced. I understand that all of the classic car parts are getting harder to find, but many are pricing this hobby right out of business. The whole reason why the next generation has no interest.

Happy to say that I did not buy one single thing. Not even anything I did even need yet.

At around 1 pm, a lot of guys were dealing on parts, not giving them away, but 1/2 to 3/4 off the prices in the morning.

There is another all Mopar car show/swap meet coming up in April at the old Packard Proving Grounds. I will post a copy of the flyer when I get a chance.

The only thing I bought was two hand stamps @ $5 each for an entry fee (one for my son and one for me). Otherwise nothing at the meet that got me to part with more money for my belvedere.

The day wasn't a total loss as I had arranged a meeting with a guy that lived about 10 minutes from the meet on some Sweptline parts. I ended up getting two straight rust free fenders, a door that had been sandblasted and primered (not perfect but a solid starting point) and a complete fleetside shortbed with tailgate for $400 total.

I'm finding the Sweptline pickups are a reasonable priced alternative to the cars. They're hard to find parts for as there are few repop suppliers, but to me the fun is in the hunt.

I will be there also and usually bring my Charger. Takes forever to get all the way out there with 4:10's.

I did ok on Sunday. A lot of people there... Picked up a few things and my brother-in-law who joined me picked up 12 records for $5 ea. Looking forward to the April show as well.
