Has anyone done or seen a 71-72 RR with a rear bumper from a 71-72 Charger?

Nope. Never seen it done.

Lol, someone wants to get creative and nobody can offer encouragement? I do see why your pondering the idea, the Charger rear bumper is more appealing but it's going to involve some significant surgery, hope you can weld and fabricate. If done right it should look pretty cool.. keep me posted as I'm doing a 72 Satty soon and like the idea.

The only thing I don't like on 71/74 Plymouths is just rigth the rear clip look due the bumper shape and decklid ( same about 71/73 Coronet which are pretty much the same design ) . 71/74 Chargers looks WAY better. HOWEVER that doesn't mean I'll make that swap. Quarter shape won't match ever.

I think would be "easier" try to fit a 71/72 Plymouth front end on a 71/72 Charger. I think mold the fender is easier than a quarter, trunk lid etc...

But I like better the 71/72 Plymouth quarter glass shape than the 71/72 Charger quarter glass shape... thats the reason why I like more the 73/74 Charger because is the same shape than 71/72 Plymouth

I agree the rear is the least appealing aspect of the 71-74, as far as never matching though... anything can be done but yes drastic surgery will be needed.

The rear clip of them looks like is car is melting down LOL

But I don't think will change it anyway. It will miss its own line

Something like this:

Guess you could put it that way.

Even with this ( still being hot as is, she DOESN'T have REALLY a nice butt yet ) LOL

The brackets do look very similar and the mounting points are the same....

I like the way the back of the Plymouth looks.

Those "comparison" photos are not the same angle or the same lighting, not to mention the dark vs light colors.

The rear of the 2 door Plymouth does favor the 4 door version.

The Dodge 4 door is almost the same. Charger is totally different.

I'm agreed, the tanned butt looks better, and light and angle helps a lot too

I'm agree and already told... 71/73 Coronets look about the same. 74s got better

Guess I'm a little different..... I've always liked the back end of the '71 Road Runners. I've always been more a fan of them than the 71'74 Chargers. Could be because I had a '71 Satellite Sebring Plus and a '73 plain Satellite. It would interesting to photoshop the rear bumper off that Charger onto the Roadrunner, just to see what it looks like.

I just did it, very quick and crudely, using Microsoft Paint, and have to say it doesn't look too bad!!

Since the 73 Plymouth bumper got wider (than 71/72) but the charger did not, I wonder if the outside would line up with the outside of the Plymouth quarter.

is more than that.

On top to down view, the Charger bumper is sligthly C shaped on ends and quarter extensions meet that shape. Plymouth is pretty much straight and quarters don't get quarter extensions.

Deck lid Vertical Height is higher on Plymouths.

the Charger bumpers are slightly shaped like arrows on ends ( < and > ) so quarters meet this shape. Plymouths are more flattened ( althought still curved ).

Honestly I find hard to fit without heavy modifications which includes quarter body lines and shape.

I think way easier modify Plymouth fenders ( and complete front clip ) on custom fenders built to meet Chargers lines ( which in any case will be bolted up pieces ) than the suggested change which is more than just quarters.
