I need to to remove a heater core in my 1970 coronet. It’s a non ac car. With console
Am i able to remove the heater core itself
OR Do I need to remove the entire heater
Box to remove the heater core
Thanks for any help

The entire box must be removed. Its easier if your car is non-AC.
Still plan on removing at least the front passenger seat.
There are a few bolts that poke through the firewall into the engine bay. The nuts must be removed from those bolts. Plus the heater lines.

For what it's worth, I didn't have to remove my passenger seat on my '70 Roadrunner non-A/C car. It's actually not that bad of a job. The one "tip" I would give is to add some window sealing foam along all the seams (or similar) when putting it back together. You'll see that the factory systems aren't sealed all that well (at least not after 50 yrs.).

Just did this in November
Passenger seat out was a must for me
Glen Ray rebuilt the original core $150 including shipping
I used the DMT heater box rebuild kit for seals

thanks everyone
the passenger seat is removed. I have a console with pistol grip shifter. Will those need to be removed?

Id have the original core repaired/cored rather than put a new one in. The original ones are much better than the new ones. Ive heard stories where the new ones wouldnt even fit

My radiator repair guy did mine for $75. Money well spent.

Thanks I replaced two now.
So I ended up fixing myself

Thanks for the help everyone did
