Im going to use a Edelbrock performer manifold on my 383. Im thinking of painting it the engine color and id like to use a stock four barrel air cleaner. Does anyone think this could be a problem with the Street Demon 625 carb id like to use? Or should I just go with a aftermarket cleaner. Thanks

I'm not 100% positive, but as long as the carburetor has the same throat size at the air cleaner, I think you're good to go

Four barrel air cleaners are for the most part, the same standard size. I'd go with a mopar performance air cleaner. Wrinkled finish or chrome. Pie tin with your engine call-out.

Hey Steve,.... One thing to watch out for on the Performer is if the choke horn will clear the throttle linkage on the passenger side.

I can't say for sure on the 383 with the Street Demon, but I DO know that I tried mounting a Speed Demon (Holley style dual-bowl carb) on my 440 I built for my Charger. The passenger side linkage arms, for the primary butterflies, hit the choke horn on the intake. I didn't have room to add a spacer under the carb, so I ended up machining away part of the choke horn for it to clear.

Like I said,... I don't know if the 383 Performer intake will be different, or how alike the primary shafts are between a Street Demon and a Speed Demon. Just wanted to let you know to check it.

The picture I am including is not from the Charger, it is from my Barracuda which is a 400 and has a Performer RPM, that doesn't have the choke horn like the regular Performer has. Just trying to show you what parts interfered with the choke horn on the Performer intake.
