i have 62 Fury, 440 with a stock 67 Chrysler TNT oil pan with windage tray. Can I get the oil pan off easily while in the car?

I would try to pressure wash it in some way before starting. Makes the job so much easier and less dirty.

I used a bottle jack. Had the car on jack stands as high as it would go. Undid motor mounts. Placed bottle under bell of tranny and jacked up enough to get it off center link. It gives you just enough room to work, not much space to work in. The three section gasket is a trick but take your time be patient . It helps if you have a second jack to help hold pan in place while lining up gaskets and pan. Good luck

This is where studs come in real handy!

Thanks everyone. Last time it was on a dirt floor and I didn’t have any instruction! If we get the car high enough maybe we can use more that 2 hands.
It would be helpful to drop center link and doesn't take that long.

Yes, drop the center link. You can just remove it at the pitman arm & idler arm and let it hang down on the tie rod ends. It gives you an extra 4" clearance and shouldn't affect your alignment. That's the way I've always dropped pans (just did one last Summer)

Easiest way I've done these for over 45 + years : disconnect the centerlink at both tie rods and idler arm only. Then, swing it out of the way pivoting from the pitman arm.. That's all.

Now I just got to do it! It’s about minus 30 Fahrenheit in my garage so it won’t be right away! Thanks WileERobby
