I bushed everything in my suspension except shocks with poly for handling and the car sat for a few years while I was otherwise occupied. Now I find almost all of them disintegrating. Now I'm not sure if I should do it again or go back to rubber. Bushings were from PST,Firm Feel, and Addco, so problem is not likely to be a bad batch. Anyone else run into this?

I have not seen that, or had experience with poly bushings breaking down like that, mainly because I don't see the benefit of poly bushings on a street car and have always gone rubber.

I can see the advantages of poly on race vehicles, due to them being so much firmer, but race vehicles usually get regular maintenance and those kinds of things are regularly inspected and replaced as needed. On the street cars I have ridden in that have poly bushings, they have always felt more stiff and feel every bump. Not what I want for a street car that only occasionally gets driven hard.

Did you use silicone grease on the poly bushings? Regular chassis grease
used on polyurethane will make them deteriorate.

I have almost all poly bushings for 20 years now with no maintainance. I didn't know they need to be greased after initial install. I better get on that.

I have Energy Suspension on the Chevelle for well over 10 years. On the Road Runner for 5 and now on the Duster. Never ran into the problem you have.

Which bushings are you having a problem with? I would not image it would be a bad batch as control arm bushings are not made at the same time a strut rod bushings or end links. It seem that all have failed. Some more information and pictures would help.

Thanks
